2011 draft.....

So you're much more secure in the guys projected around 6 - 12?
I ask this because it seems the more I learn about the prospects the less secure I am in them. Lotta risk/reward, and I'm seeing near equal risk/reward throughout much of the first round. Guys projected in the 20s might easily be better than guys projected in the top 10.

Yes.

But you never know. It's all a guessing game.

I wonder if Jones staying is going to affect any of Kentucky's current recruits decision to go to Kentucky.

I like Kanter, and I think he has a lot of the positive qualities of Demarcus Cousins without the extra baggage (both physical and mental).

However, I think that, given the fact that no one has seen him play in competition in so long, that Kanter should come out and join workouts to show that he's in shape and not afraid of competition. By making himself invisible he's putting himself at risk of GMs thinking he's got something to hide. I could see if he's locked into being a top - 5 pick, that his agent would hold him out of workouts that could hurt him. Players and agents do this every year. But Kanter is still a bit of an unknown right now.

He did do a couple private workouts recently though, and KOC went to one.

Beyond that I sincerely believe Kanter's hurting his stock by being cowardly if he really is top-3 pick material, agents are ruining the game. Worldwide Wes and Dan Fegan should negotiate themselves off a cliff so I can throw a party.

I've mentioned him a number of times. I think our best draft would be to strike gold with our own pick, land Irving, and then with #6, if we can't trade up to get Kanter too (which we probably wouldn't be able to do), trade down and land multiple picks. If we could net Singleton and Parsons with those two multiple picks, I'd be ecstatic.

Harris-Irving
Hayward-Miles
Singleton-Parsons-Evans
Jefferson-Millsap
Favors

That core of 10 would be young and sick. The opportunity to then parlay Harris, Jefferson/Millsap, Singleton/Parsons and the GS pick into a truly legit player could get us to turn a corner.

Sorry, what I meant is select Singleton with our twelfth pick; although I would be inclined to streak through my neighbourhood butt-naked from sheer joy if your scenario played out, theres a very low chance of it hapenning. Personally I feel like Singleton merits a 12th pick, and could seriously help with our defensive woes. It would seriously irk me if a team like the celtics, or spurs got him.

I'm not going to line-by-line waste my time, I'll just say most of your points are irrelevant, especially the one where you say "it was out of his control." Playing against other real players in real competition really matters. You have got your head up your *** so far that you're tonging your uvula if you think otherwise.

P.S. I like Kanter. He's the first or second player I'd pick at 3 if it came down to it.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'll reiterate that you're a moran. I hate when guys dodge combines or team workouts but there are certain obvious situations, like Kanter's, when it does absolutely no good to attend one because it can only hurt his stock drastically. Now go have tea with your mom before tucking her in.

Again, I don't want the Jazz to draft him, but I'm loving me some Davis Bertans.

This isn't a highlight video ( a couple of terrible looking shots at first) but if you hang in there for a little bit, I promise you will be impressed with some of the shots this kid is able to pull off. Pure shooter. (start watching at 1:32)

Besides his shooting, handles the ball exceptionally well it seems. I'm more impressed with him than Vesely to be honest. Just slightly less athletic.

Well with shooting being one of the things the Jazz really need Bertains would be a good pick up if we had a pick later in the draft. Just don't know that the kid is worth a lottery pick. I think there well be better player still on the board when we pick.

Yeah, I also like Bertans more than Vesely. He might be worth consideration at 12 - if the Jazz don't move back and pick up another asset.

I don't know that the projected lottery picks are worth lottery picks. Time to expand my vision of lottery pick value - at least for this weak year.
