What's new

2011 draft.....

Not advocating we take him, but FT shooting is probably the easiest skill to improve (if someone is committed).

He is 20 years old, if he hasn't improved it by now (especially as a European, I'm pretty sure they put more of an emphasis on those kind of things) then he probably wont improve it that much.

I refuse to believe that anybody, let alone a 20 yr old, can't improve their FT shooting, especially if their starting out at 50%.

If we take Vesely with Bismack and Kanter still on the board I'll lose it...

I'm honestly not that worried. Whether management will ever admit it or not, they're bruised as hell by AK and I don't think a player that highly resembles him will be that enticing to them. Especially since if they want a giant lank that's too weak to play inside and a generally poor shooter, but is probably a better defender and ball-handler than Vesely, they can probably just re-sign Dwarf Paladin Dragon Ballsack Man.

And if I wasn't clear enough already, I don't have any interest in Vesely. Not even at 12. Where does he fit in on a championship team? A guy that comes off the bench and then... umm... runs and is really tall AT THE SAME TIME?

I changed my mind. I'm stoked. Let's draft him, he fits in EVERYWHERE EVER.

The percentage of Euros who enter the draft and never come to the NBA is awfully high, and this year there are 5 to 7 euro guys projected in the first round. I wouldn't waste my pick.....but if I had two picks.......

There are two "Euro"s that aren't under contract and you can guarantee will be in the NBA the second they can. Those two happen to be the only two I give a **** about (Kanter, Biyombo).

Do you really need an NBA skill or ability to defend a position to make it in the NBA? I'm completely confounded by the love this guy gets on this board.

Hmmm, there appear to be scouts who have watched him play full games many times who are obviously very high on him, but I am sure you know better.

Scouts beat off to "upside", and that's about all Vesely has. On paper.
