What's new

2011 draft.....

Not even comparable. George is a 6'8 athletic freak who plays defense (also was a sophmore). Brooks is a 6'5 senior who just scores.

Brooks is a great talent who could easily have as productive career as George. I wasn't comparing their height, but their potential. Brooks could be a starting 2-guard.

I just hope the FO goes after the guys they want, moving up from 3 and 12 if they need to. We have Memo's expiring, CJ, future picks, and Raja... all of whom might be able to lever our spot up a notch or two.

Dude, if we could get Williams and Biyombo out of this draft I would be ecstatic.

Would anyone do this? Draft Kantar at 3. Draft Donatas Motiejunas at 12. Trade either Millsap or Jefferson for a 2 or a 1 or a package of both.

Totally rebuild the front court.

even if you drafted both of those guys there would be no reason to trade BOTH Al and Paul next year. One of them would need to go. Even if we only draft one big, one of them probably needs to go.

That's why I said or and not both. Memo may have to go, but not if we get Kantar.

I wouldn't rebuild the front court like that, no. Keep Jefferson. Keep Millsap unless a phenomenal deal pops up.

But I think an argument could be made to draft Knight with the first pick and Montiejunas with the 2nd. I'm not 100% sold on Kanter yet, and Montiejunas is very mobile and skilled for a 7' player. He needs to put on some more weight, but could be a nice replacement for Okur.

Maybe. I'm trying to think of who to compare Kanter to. There isn't a perfect comparison, but in terms of impact in the league, I could see Kanter being similar to a Rony Seikaly. He's maybe not an all star, but a solid double-double guy who works hard.
