(Obviously if Brandon Knight is drafted by the Jazz he will not wear #12 since Stockton retired it)

Singleton's lock down defense was no match for the likes of Marcus Morris. Is Morris an elite NBA wing? I don't know about that but I'm now totally off the Singleton bandwagon. If Marcus Morris really can play the 3 I'd go for him before Singleton.

Yep, me too.

You're off the Singleton bandwagon because of one workout?!

Geez....here's what you do. Watch how he played the entire ****ing year, and draw your results from that. These workouts are so the scouts can see them up close, but I would prefer to actually look at game tape of how they have performed. You're like somebody who goes nuts after somebody at the NFL combine runs a 4.4, has 30 bench reps but still can't play. I'm not saying that Morris can't play, I think he is good, but don't concern yourself with the workouts when you have actual game tape you can watch.

I've been leaning off of the bandwagon anyway. This just pushed me off. And I'm looking for reasons to trim my draft board down anyway. That's not to say if a guy runs a 4.4, or whatever the NBA equivalent, I won't factor that in - but I've mostly been influenced by posters on here who have seen Singleton play all year long, and their evaluation was that they were underwhelmed. Then I have to factor in what I think of that poster's assessment - which y'know, after reading a few posts on here it's not hard to figure out who's informed and who's talking out of their ***. Anyway, I've been feeling like there was a wave of Singleton love on here and I even got caught up in it, -- it was cool to like Singleton. But the Singleton crowd kept citing his defense and admitting he had little else to his game other than hope that he'd eventually be good offensively. Anyway, people on the forum that claim to have watched him play all year said not to get too excited about him, and then Morris schools him in this workout so it casts doubt on the one thing that was most lauded about him, so yada yada yada I have reason to trim my draft board.

It does strike me as bad if you're not up for auditioning for a job if Singleton played that badly. Doesn't mean I'd want Morris more, but other players may move up ahead of him if that trend continues.

This draft is so hard to read. I have never seen a draft with so may conflicting reports on almost every player. And so may question marks. Not a great draft to have a top pick in for sure.

So someone tells you that its completely close-minded to cast off a player based off of one workout JUST BECAUSE some other posters found him "underwhelming" when they saw a few seminoles games?? Basing you opinion off of others interpretations is definitely a great idea to get to know a player. If you're so damn certain that Singleton can't keep his man contained in a bsketball setting (despite getting the ACC defensive player of the year) then how about you actually do some research for once and see how the seminoles matched up against Kansas or any other team that has a strong frontcourt.

Hilarious. Some of you ripping Bentley for his reasons in forming an OPINION have based your own opinion (even if it is an opposing view) on the very same criteria. It's a message board .. sheesh.

I hope you're not referencing me, because I said I don't care about these workouts. I care about game tape. And yes, I know it's an opinion and everybody is entitled to one, this is just my opinion and perhaps I'm a little more vocal about it than I should be.

No, I love seeing people vocal about their opinions .. even overly. I just think it's funny (I really do) when people form their opinions on youtube, combine measurements, interiews, mixtapes, etc., and then think someone else is an idiot for ... wait for it .. forming their opions on youtube, combine measurements, interiews, mixtapes, etc.

I think it's great that different people form different opinions and share them passionately. Just funny when the reason someone else is wrong is pigeon-holed into a lack of knowledge ... when it's really just a different opinion. Ain't hatin' at all, just an observation that I find amusing.

How the hell are workouts not important. I remember a few years back.... I don't remember which team it was, but a team held a workout in which Ike Diogu went one on one with Taft a pf from Pitt Taft was regarded as a top 5 or10 pick, and was was dominated by a player who is only a fringe NBA player. Needless to say Taft's stock began to drop, and he ended up going in the second round. I don't think he lasted more then then a season or two in the NBA.

Game tapes had people thinking Taft was a top prospect. Workouts exposed him for what he is, so yes I put a lot of stock in workouts. I think Bentley is justified in getting off the Singleton bandwagon. Personally I never understood the Singleton hype.
