2011 draft.....

Roy was always regarded as a good passer. Brooks has a neg. assist/turnover ratio. I just see him as a good mid-range player if he'll pass.

That's true, but he handled the ball a TON and he had no go-to help. Gotta factor that in .. imo.

That is such a garbage argument. If Carlos Arroyo can average 5 assists (to 2.2 TOs) on a no-talent '03-04 team that went 42-40, the most potent scorer in the Big East can probably find an open teammate. His teammates aren't NBA players, but the competition isn't either. These are still Division I basketball players with scholarships, it's not impossible to finish a layup or hit an open shot. Excuses.

This argument has also been used for Al Jefferson, and it's moot and a cop-out there too. You factor in quality of teammates when a player's assist totals go significantly down after a lot of roster turnover (Deron this year, highlighted by how much his assists went up when he got to a team with a big that could finish a play and a couple of players that could hit a shot).

This was the knock on Brandon Roy-- 4-year player, good/not great athlete, fluid scorer but can he do it at the next level, will he pass, etc.

His 4.1 APG/2.3 TPG disagrees (nearly 2:1 Ast/TO ratio). The knock on Brandon Roy was his knees.

Ok need help from the stat gurus? I was wondering if they have a +/- for college players. I would like to know what the team +/- while players are playing vs while they are sitting.

Good players make their team mates better just by being on the court.

Seriously, though, I agree .. but Providence had only one player on the team that shot a higher % than Marshon (and that's not saying much, at all). Defenses backed off, packed the lane, and made it very difficult for this non-shooting team to score. If you have no perimeter game (as a team) and the opposing team backs-off, TO's go up.

Hollinger has a +/- but it's never really updated. Not a popularly used stat in college.

There is one, but I don't know how to find it. DX usually provides a chart every year that's sortable in a bunch of different metrics.

I'm also highly anticipating their situational statistics by position on players in the draft (especially PGs, particularly how my guys projected to go in the 20s [Charles Jenkins, Reggie Jackson, and Darius Morris] fare) report.

I'm a DX junkie. I wish I knew how to get a hold of these stats without them since I don't like to be too reliant on one source (as a general rule).
