2011 draft.....

ESPN's David Thorpe is speaking highly of Marcus Morris as a skilled, aggressive SF. He compares him to Danny Granger and says he could be an 18 - 20 pt. scorer. Didn't expect that. Could be a good pick-up at 12.

Marcus Morris said he would be mainly a 3 in an interview with Chad Ford as well. Man the twins have the same tattoos.. pretty creepy.

So if you knew nothing else about any of the other players' futures but you knew Enes Kanter turns out to be Zach Randolph with his head screwed on straight, is that worth the #1 pick if it went down?

Just making conversation.

Yes. IMO Zack Randolph is one of the most underrated guys of the past decade in the NBA. Imagine how good he would be if he wasn't a headcase and jackass like he was in Portland. The dude is the Steve Nash of bigs in the NBA. Zero athletic ability and if you give him and inch he will expose you.

Just curious: How confident are you that we'll end up with a decent enough player with our first pick? How long is your list of "satisfactory" players? Mine's at 6 right now:

Irving (no brainer)
Williams, Kanter (offensive talent, if somewhat redundant for Jazz now)
Knight, Leonard, Biyombo (acceptable risk/reward level)

I could be satisfied with several players after that with our second pick, but there's no one else that I really like for the first. So worry about moving to 7 is driving my interest in the lottery almost as much as the possibility of moving up.

Absolutely. Randolph is proving to be a stud. You could always tell the guy had talent but I never thought he'd be this much of an impactful player. He really has a knack for getting an offensive board and finishing, the latter being an extremely important skill. It always burns me to see a guy be good at getting the offensive board but failing on the put back.

I agree. I'm trying to temper my belief that Kanter could be that player because that's almost as silly as comparing Jimmer to John Stockton and Steve Nash.

Randolph = Bull, Spurs/Thunder defense = China Shop

Coming out of college, what did Stockton or Nash have on Jimmer?

They weren't Mormon.

And neither went to the school that Jimmer has terrorized for years now.

Seriously, had Jimmer played at UCLA, I doubt so many Ute fans would have so many doubts.

As a Ute fan, I'm excited to see how Jimmer will pan out. Every now and then players that are told they don't have a chance to succeed prove many people wrong. Will this be Jimmer? I don't know, but boy, he sure can shoot.
