So, who would have been a better pick for us than Burke?
There wasn't a better pick than Burke, or a better draft possible beyond what Lindsey did.

Should have packaged our picks for the Bucks 2014 pick. They think they can make the playoffs this year(as delusional as some of the JazzFanzz) so they might have been receptive.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda... I am very pleased with the offseason the Jazz had. Set up the team to belong to the youth, set up the payroll for entensions and 2014 free agency and set the Jazz up with multiple picks 2014-1017. Excellent offseason.

This is why I didn't want to draft a pg last year. Chances are Harrison falls right into our laps, not to mention I'm on record saying I wouldn't pick Burke in the top ten. This would mean we wasted a pick in the 13 draft.

The pick is only wasted if Trey sucks and that has yet to be determine. If Harrison is still available you take him anyways. If Trey does a good job and doesn't want to share then he can be traded for another player or picks. With all this talent that the Jazz are accumulating they are not going to be able to keep everyone. Each player will determine their value but hopefully each player plays well enough to have market value so the Jazz can get more assets as they fine tune the roster.

Agreed. I took the question as a challenge to think of an even better situation. I think my answer wasn't too bad. I am definitely impressed with the Linsey FO.

If we had a better pg this year none would be butt hurt to see Burke come off the bench. If we get a better pg next year then he can come off the bench. As long as he doesn't completely implode he should be a nice asset for the Jazz.

@DJJazzyJody
"Asked Ty Corbin if Trey Burke will start right off the bat. Wouldn’t go there, but said, “He’s working his butt off to be a starter.”

@DJJazzyJody
"Corbin said Lucas' court awareness/spunk is good for Trey Burke: "Trey’s playing with a little bit more of an edge now after being with him"

@DJJazzyJody
"Corbin wants Jazz to be an inside-out team, but said perimeter players like Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks and Trey Burke will get more chances.

By mentioning these three by name, diesn't it sound like he made up his mind on them starting?

@DJJazzyJody
"Corbin on Jazz starting lineup: "It’s more than just the best five guys to start the game. It’s thinking about combinations."

But then again...

"It's impressive to watch Jazz rookie Ian Clark shoot 3s in warm-ups. #SplashLakeCity Corbin on Clark from deep: "It’s an easy shot for him."

Hoping we get see him, Machado, Gobert, Evans and Rush in the 2nd unit.

Says a lot of things in here about players. He says Trey's shot is still worrisome. He says it is better than it was in summer league, but it isn't where it needs to be, etc.

Talks about Favors and Hayward being the two best players so far. Says Favors has 12/13 jumpers in scrimmages, but cautions us not to get our hopes up because of quality of defenders.

Just listen.

I say he'll start. What say you?

I don't think Burke starts. I think Corbin will want to make him earn it too. But since he doesn't have much in front of him, I could see him starting soon. I just don't see him starting because I think he will show struggles in practice.

In the interview above, Corbin talks about playing Clark, Burks, and Hayward together for stretches, w/ Hayward and Burks running the offense. This is essentially what the CJ McCollum role would have been (to shoot it, but Clark also adds better defense).
