Oh well, this is just a oversimplification of the game.
Donovan = quick in half court. If only he had Nash's 3 point shot.
Gobert / Favors too slow for Capella.
Parker MVP with Duncan. Leonard MVP. Bowen DPOY. Green. Ginobli.

Sabonis's prime is hypothetical, it's a bit of a stretch to have him in this at all.

In 1983-1986 before his Achiles injuries he was arguable the best young center in the world. Destroyed young Robinson and prime Ralph Sampson in head to head matches, and even after injuries in 1988 had no issues with Robinson or Manning. Since this is legendary player draft we are talking prime players and prime Sabonis was absolute beast.

You know we had a slow pace, right. And that, pace is generally slower in playoffs. Also it wasn't just Capela, it was Chris Paul as well. Rudy just got caught in-between them because our best pg defender was hurt.

I really wonder how Jazz beat Okc who had truly fast players in Westbrook and Pg with Ingles and two bigs starting. It's not like Crowder was quick, he wasn't fit at all.

If only he had come to the NBA earlier.

More context / details needed on these matches for me to evaluate, but Sampson wasn't picked for this draft.

This game: "After watching this rare footage, basketball experts agree that there wasn’t any particular direct one-on-one duel between the two, except for a short stint during the overtime."
The 2 didn't even play against each other. It was just one game. One game against a college team.

PG is not quick.
Crowder is not slow, and when he plays PF he is quick.
Ingles is probably as quick as Pierce.

I am not talking about pace. I am talking about quickness. These are two different things.
Now that we eliminated the fast-break arguement, let's talk about how Nash and Drexler was defensively. They simply aren't enough to slow down anyone let alone tire someone.

You didn't eliminate the fast break argument. Your flawed team will lose because they are too slow in this matchup.

I admit, I only remember Soviet newspapers declaring Sabonis win vs Sampson as he outscored him 21-13. But in 1982 those games were never on TV, all we were getting was score and pts and some subjective propaganda, so it was no way of knowing if they matched up one on one or not. Having said that watch the game and tell me that Sabonis in 1982 could not run or was slow.

I've already established that Sampson was not in his prime, was not destroyed, was not matched up against Sabonis, and it was just one game, and Sampson wasn't an all time top center anyway.

Ugh, if I didn't, you did it then. Your thinking is severely illogical. Speed and quickness isn't everything. That's why players like Ingles, Korver can still find jobs. It's why the game has evolved to more passing, switching and 3pt shooting.

lol. Sampson was 22 in that video ( next year he won rookie of the year in NBA averaging 20/11, was All star game MVP in 1985 and is in basketball HOF - so pretty decent for short carier derailed by injuries), Sabonis was 18 and yet Sabonis won scoring battle 21-13. They did match up more than few times during that game - if you watch it instead of reading what somebody wrote.
The point of your argument was that Hekate's team is too slow. Prime Duncan, Sabonis, Pierce, Shaq, is far from slow dude, Kidd would have a blast playing with these guys.

Just one game, against a college team, wasn't matched up against Sampson, didn't destroy Sampson, before Sampson's prime.
