Trade for a unrestricted FA right when he is about to be a top 3-5 FA this Summer? That wouldn't make much sense.

We have to pull a Paul George type deal and show him he should stay. To get Tobias, we have to lose Favors anyway. If we sacrifice a 1st, it should be a late 1st and worth the gamble.

I think expirings for Conley is fair given his injury concerns and age... they may not. Now if they can flip Rubio/Favs, in a three or four team deal, for some draft assets they might be inclined to do that.

I think they have to get salary flexibility and draft assets or young players to make a deal work on their end.

I'm iffy on Conley. I'd do a Conley deal 100 times before a kevin love deal doe.

really ?? Conley's injury history is as bad as Love's no ? And at his age a PG will fall off a cliff pretty quickly

This season matters to me too though.
If we can give up favors and a pick them I think we should do it. Would make us better this year imo, we would likely be losing favors anyway if we were to chase Tobias in the summer, and maybe Tobias loves it here and chooses us like Paul George did in okc

dunno isn't Conley on 30 mil a season ? For what he is that's pretty horrendous

Yes, but his contract is shorter (by 2 years) and he is a good two way player... so if he's healthy he can play against any top playoff team.

I don't think a trade is necessary.... Paul George was a multiple-time all-star and true superstar... Harris isn't on that level yet, he's not going to tell LA he's walking no matter what. I don't think he's a surefire max player, and I bet he'll value stability/other star players around him. Plus its at least been rumored that he'd be interested.

You trade for Tobias for two reasons:
- You want to keep Rubio's bird rights and resign him
- You want the advantage of offering him a 5 year max
