2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

If we're moving on from Ed Davis then I think the Jazz will be in the market for another 5. Either through a small trade or on the buyout market. Tony has played well in stretches and has shown potential. But he is not consistent yet, he's inexperienced and most importantly we may not be able to put him on the floor against certain teams in the playoffs. The Jazz could add another 5 and split the backup minutes between the two. Play whoever matches up better with the opponent on a given night.
I think Tony is consistent. He just has a low ceiling.

If Tony and Georges both still play at a solid level they may even be the pieces that help you nab a Baynes or another upgrade. When Phoenix or other teams fold they may look at two solid cheap bench pieces as enough incentive (with a second rd pick or two) to send out a better piece on an expiring deal. Keep playing them and see what shakes loose.

Side note- Baynes shooting has really fallen off. Something to monitor.

Aminu is having surgery on his knee... he is basically out for the year... scratch him from the list.

ETA NVM I thought he was saying that Ed was releasing words.

The tweet and your post are equally confusing.
Yeah, at first I posted the tweet because it sounded like Ed was making some kind of announcement. Then I edited the post to mention that I misunderstood. He was referencing his article he was publishing on Ed’s fit, and not some kind of words that Ed was releasing about his own fit.

CP3 would bring a lot of intensity, midrange clutchness, and ref/media respect, but if people complain that Conley is bad without the ball in his hands... imagine paying CP3 $45M.

CP3 is great without the ball in his hands though? Maybe not as good as with it in his hands, but I have no doubt he'd contribute off-ball. He had to play off Harden and succeeded (his splits with and without Harden are like two completely different players, it's wild) and is currently doing a great job of letting the young guys (SGA/Dennis) grow in OKC.
