"Yeah, sure. That's a fair question. And of course we have to look at ourselves and hold ourselves accountable -- that's part of the position and, hey, it comes with the territory of what we do. But when we look at what was going on in the league, the moves that were made, the moves that weren't made, the moves that were almost made -- or should I say rumored to be made -- when we look at all of that, and then we look at our current group -- guys we constructed a roster around, guys who play hard, guys who come to work every day not focused on the paycheck, guys who are dedicated to themselves and other -- guys who are true professionals in every sense of the word -- we take a look at those guys and we have to ask ourselves -- myself, Justin, David Morway, Quin, the Miller family, etc. -- we have to ask ourselves what can we do to take this team from where it's at and move it forward. That becomes the pressing question. And there are always many late nights. We discuss things. Heck, just the other day Justin and David got into a big discussion over Chinese food over something one of our video specialists who's been with us for the season had noticed on the way teams are defending us coming out of high screens, you know things like that where these guys are living and breathing the game, we're faced with a number of decisions that will affect the course of this franchise years down the road. So we look at the history of what makes Jazz basketball, dating back to Frank Layden and Sam Battistone, and Sam's Pancake shop... you know, a lot of people don't really know this, but Sam used to sell a pancake at Sambo's called the big cheese. Now it didn't really have cheese in it, but that kind of gives you some kind of measure of knowing who that guy was. Carry that forward and the great leadership we have under the Miller family, myself having the huge blessing of being able to learn under Kevin O'Connor, and to have so many great minds in the office, that we took a look at where we were at, we surveyed the landscape, and yeah we had been offered some very interesting names -- some guys that there may have been a lot of excitement for -- but when we continued to look at ourselves, our identity, what made our style of play unique, and we look at the chemistry and changes that happened this offseason -- and it was a big change, this wasn't small -- when we take a look at all these variables and when we ask ourselves those questions, we realized as a group -- at that time -- that we felt where we were at that it was only fair to this group of guys to give them everything they needed to succeed and we didn't want to prematurely... you know.. prematurely make changes and compromise ourselves just because we weren't really serious about investing the time that's required to build a team of a championship caliber, like a San Antonio, per se, and I genuinely believe that, as you look at these guys, that it's a huge testament to who these guys are -- not just as players but as people -- to their dedication, to their hard work, to them really coming in every day and buying in to Quin's system. We just felt that this was the best we could do for these guys and a great opportunity not just for the franchise but also for the city of Salt Lake and the whole state. These are great guys and I'm privileged to be among them."When I read that I had visions of a DL press conference... I know JZ is the GM now but I’m not as familiar with his voice and such... in this press conference DL talks about being aggressive and how we had a lot of traction in the buyout market but it never materialized the way we wanted (will mention Joe Johnson’s buyout and how we signed him the next year). Will take some questions on why we didn’t move Dante and will mention how much progress he’s making in rehab (I mean it’s going to happen right?). Will mention how a first round exit to the Rockets is not our goal and how we will push forward and get over the hump next year.
