Maker sucks... just want to put that out there... I think TB is legit better.
Maker won't rebound, he shies away from contact and he only looks good shooting the ball in 1 out of every 5 or so games.

Yeah he helped us beat the GSW to reach conference finals. Too bad he ruined his legacy with us by pulling off a dick move.Jazz traded Devin Brown, Keith McLeod and Andre Owens for Derek Fisher. That was a classic 3 pennies for a dollar trade, and one of the best of his career.
I was kinda shocked they didn't sell out for the Minny package... not the one with Wiggins but just like Dieng and the stuff they got for RoCo. Not a ton of spots for high priced point guards... what if Minny drafts one? I hope they are stuck with him and when it comes time to win again that everyone sees his warts.
Maker can switch and guard 1-5 and has some moments in playoffs. Lacks consistency but would definitely be useful to have comes playoffs. An expiring anyways. He can guard 1-5, but he doesn't provide much value outside of switchability.Maker isn't a 5. He's a 4 or even a 3.
Derek Fish was a good acquisition even though he didn't play well for us. But my point with that was that a lot of people thought it was a bad move (especially in hindsight). But in any case we had traded for him.Agree with you on KOC in his late years. Couldnt stand him. Just one mistake after another. Was begging for him to step down. But Derek Fisher was actually a pretty good signing, and a better “vet signing” than any vets that DL had signed except for maybe iso-joe. But I'm still waiting on DL to match KOC’s booz/okur signing. Bogie came close, but he’s already 31 and unlikely to outperform his contract the same way Booz and Okur did
Jazz know who they want. They're just waiting for the market to shake out. Their shortlist for bigs probably includes Baynes, Poeltl, Holmes, maybe Wood...
They'll inquire about guys like Aaron Gordon, Bobby Portis, Iguodala and such as part of their due diligence.
They could probably pick up GRIII or maybe Saric pretty easily, imo. Another sleeper might be Kurucs in Brooklyn.
I mean that's the idea but who? There is a clock on that sort of thing too... once the Warriors need him to play winning basketball his value dips... he's had injuries over the years... also that lotto pick loses a ton of value the second you drive it off the lot.Golden State can package Russell with a lottery pick for a disgruntled All Star. I think that's their plan.
I always liked him, but he has been really pedestrian last couple years... He's a guy I think Quin could really help and could work well in our system. He could be a buy low candidate now or in the offseason. Is Saric even any good? Just seems like a dime a dozen guy we could pick up of our ever growing scrap heap.
Just see for yourself... The way he guarded a very good Celtics team from Rozier to Tatum to horford. I doubt TB will ever match that. Maker's ceiling is as high as any elite defender when properly used. He just lacks the mentality and effort to stay consistent.

Now regarding Boozer and Okur. The year we signed them, the salary cap was $43,870,000. We signed Boozer for 25% of the cap and Okur 17%. This year Bojan is signed for 16% of the cap. In his first year with us, he's averaging more points than either Boozer or Okur scored at any point in their stints with us.

I know. Sometimes the obvious has to be said. I usually give it a crack for one or two posts, but then come to my senses. You’re really wasting a ton of time right now
Except Maker is only a half season deal so we won't have to commit the way we did with ostertagI'm old enough to remember when this was Greg Ostertag after that Houston series. . .
https://stats.nba.com/vs/advanced/#...1610612749&Season=2017-18&SeasonType=PlayoffsSee for yourself... His numbers are ***... I don't care that he had one good game... Also, his team is better defensively when he is off the court...

Please don't acquire a guy that is supposed to be a good defender but struggles with effort...
Udoh can switch 1-5 and is currently looking like Hakeem in China.Who's better in theory on the Jazz? Maker or Udoh. I would say Udoh by far. The Jazz play 4-out not 5-out. Maker is exploitable with some heft and muscle. Udoh is switchable on defense.
