2020 Presidential election

I feel like last night's complete flop by Bloomberg should be taken pretty seriously. I don't think he's gonna get the nomination. There are too many people out there turned off by him appearing to be in the process of buying the nomination. He looked like a bumbling fool. Warren was dunking on him and posterizing him again and again.

Appearing?

lol, give me a second.

Okay, the PM is from @Nate505 on Apr. 28th 2018. The title of the PM is "Hey, can you not troll Cy" If nate is okay with it I'll post his post, my response and his follow-up response.

The pic I posted, well, not in this thread but in one of them, is the one Nate was asking me stop posting. Since I'm not sure where it is I'll post it here for reference purposes. I made this pic in Apr. 2018.

Evidently this got under Cy's skin.

For all the years I've been here I've had very little direct interaction with Cy, but when it has happened it has been negative.
Fine with me.

Bernie is thoroughly more electable than warren— all the stats bear this out. Bernie also gets bills passed, often with bipartisan support— all the stats also Bear this out.

You can’t blame Gameface for being queasy about the term “socialists”— the American government shamefully misled millions of troops to murder civilians in the name of combating this purposefully smeared ideology. To accept that socialism isn’t evil would basically equate to thousands of Americans being sent to The Hague for war crimes (the leaders— not the infantrymen; they were just carrying orders).

The resistance to Bernie isn’t just dumb Americans being scurred of scurry words like “socialism.” It’s that Bernie is a lousy candidate. I’m worried that his angry ranting plays right into Trump’s hands. I’m worried he will alienate coalitions of people (like @colton) that we need to win/hold onto to beat Trump, win the senate, and retain the House. It’s like all the lessons of 2018, “The Year Of The Moderate” have already been forgotten. I’m worried that his past comments about Cuba and the USSR will make easy ads for Trump. Finally, I’m not comfortable with “a revolution.” America doesn’t need that. We need to reform our institutions and update some of our programs to meet the needs of the 21st century. We don’t need to burn them down with a bunch of loud angry young men (history has proven that this rarely works out).

The mere fact that Bernie’s campaign leadership and fans are just as intolerant and obnoxious as Trump’s is off-putting to me. Suddenly, I’m not liberal enough for Bernie Bros who feel like they can take over our party. Suddenly @Gameface is being attacked as if he were a Trumper. It’s seriously scary the similarities between how Trump took over the Republican Party in 2015-2016 and how Sanders is taking over the Democratic Party now. I think Sanders will win the nomination. I think the establishment is failing and the guardrails are breaking. How long lasting his victory will be I think depends on if he wins the general in 2020. Sadly, for the establishment to restore order, we may need 4 more years of Trump. Sigh

Damn bro the President cant do it all by himself? That means we should give up a nominate a centrist and make sure nothing ever changes? THat makes sense?

Vote for Bernie and be proven wrong. HE IS THE MOST POPULAR CANDIDATE AND IF YOUR CLAIMS ARENT BS THEN YOU SHOULD BE HITCHING YOUR WAGON TO THE MOST POPULAR CANDIDATE TO BEAT TRUMP.

So we have a candidate who checks two of your supposed boxes (healthcare and beating Trump), but you arent supporting him? This makes sense in what universe? You are either full of it or brainwashed by the media.

If you want to pass universal health care you will need to retain control of the house and win at least 2/3rds majority of the senate. Nominating a moderate at the top of the ticket gives us the best chance of winning the senate and retaining control of the House. You’re not going to win in purple or light red states with a Democratic Socialist at the top of the ticket.

Bernie Bros have a reputation for their aggressive attacks on anyone who doesn't pass their purity test.

I mean holy ****, I said he wasn't my first choice but that I would absolutely support him and be completely happy to have him as the POTUS but that's not good enough for Cy. I hate health care reform and the middle class working people now...

you should see our health care system then
Death panels? Wait lists? Can't keep my current doctor?

No thanks, I'd rather have millions with no health care at all, millions die from preventable or treatable medical issues, millions suffer with easily treatable conditions. It puts hair on my chest knowing that it's survival of the wealthiest in 'murica.
