I’m sure you’re a wonderful human being fwiw. I have too many fond memories of you and have heard too many similar stories on here from people who’ve met you. So if I came across as a dick, I apologize.
However, your arrogance (I respectfully think that’s accurate) and complete and utter disdain for America is a bit much at times. I say that respectfully and as someone who has a similar distaste. I do. I’m not patriotic one iota. I don’t buy into our ********. The country’s interests generally come down to money and power through the “Christian” lens of those with major influence. It’s disgusting, really.
That said, to denounce our ****** country is to indirectly and sanctimoniously prop most every other one up on a perch, and ignore the fact that many (most?) do the same exact thing on a smaller scale given the fact that they have less power, resources, money and influence regionally and in the world. Not Canada I’d guess (I know little about you hosers) as you guys seem to keep to yourself. Not, I don’t know, Switzerland—much love whatshisname who married a Swiss, rich hottie. But many, many countries.
I am very curious however what your world views will be like in 20 years. It’s clichéd but I do think your age means a relative lack of real world experiences compared to say someone of my age or older. I say that respectfully of course. And I fully understand that greater age does not mean I or any other older adult is right. I’m not saying I am. But I’m curious how you will look at your profession, your employer, your country and the world in say 20 years time. Perhaps equally as fondly. Perhaps not so much depending on your experiences.
Our views are all exaggerated because our experiences are all biased. Mine, yours, everyone’s. And I just don’t really want to get into arguments over political nonsense. I never understand why people do so so passionately, defending their beliefs to the death, citing source after source. It’s too tough to sift through all the sources and deem which are very accurate, somewhat accurate, completely full of ****, or somewhere in between. And for what ends? To be right on Jazzfanz? At the end of the day, it’s just not worth it to me. There are 24 hours in a day. I try to sleep close to 8. I work 8. I eat meals, work additional hours from home, spend wonderful time here with my kids, wife and friends, go to my kids’ sporting events, work on **** around the house, raise my children and oh yeah, try to enjoy life and the beautiful simplicity that parenting and marriage offers. Arguing about politics is completely and ridiculously insensible to me.
Love ya.
I predict Klobuchar to be the next one to drop out, perhaps right after tomorrow’s results. Especially after having to cancel an event yesterday because of some protesters storming into the event.
Which happens tomorrow as well. She's apparently going to hang in until Minnesota to see if she can win delegates in her home state.
Way to stop my sentence short. Many have cut hours. And give it time. More will, or will lay people off. Or raise prices which I failed to mention before. You live in fantasy land if you think a CEO and BoD is gonna stand lower profits. Won’t happen. I’m not saying it’s right. It just won’t happen.
I agree there will be side effects. However, I see it as more in terms of increased prices than decreased hours. Will a CEO (or more realistically, a manager) who need 200 man-hours to do a job suddenly need only 160 if the minimum wage rises? How many of these jobs can be successfully automated, but have not been?
It is propaganda. I’m sure there are doctors there who are the best of the best and have achieved greatness. I don’t believe the majority of their citizens, however, have access to such care. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of articles out there about this.
Here’s one.

Honestly, there’s no sense in replying because I won’t. You have your mind made up and I have mine. I think you’re gravely underestimating how liberal I am in my thinking and forget that I’m a D/I. I’ve just read or seen way too many articles on this. By “liberal” outlets.

No, I don't remember that at all. Could you refresh me on that?
BTW, aren't you a little young to be relishing past victories? Has you peaked already? No wonder you want to imitate Americans.
