What's new

2020 Presidential election

Pelosi passing up this offer is a huge mistake. No stimulus deal now means you certainly won't see anything until February at the earliest. And if the republicans maintain control of the senate you can be sure they'll triple down on their austerity rhetoric with Biden in the White House.

Yeah, Trump is forcing this deal and the republicans in Congress are not dealing in good faith - what else is new? Then accept it and let them be the bad guys.

This all comes down to her not wanting give the appearance that she's caving which will give Trump a win this close to the election - but she's doing so at the expense of millions of Americans citizens and American businesses that are about to go down the *****er.

What deal is Pelosi refusing? What offer?

It just goes to show how awful our media is in this country when Pelosi passed a stimulus bill in May. The Senate sat on it until just a week ago. The Senate offers a paltry bill that even Trump admits is too small... granted, Trump the squirrel doesn’t know what he wants so he can’t make up his mind whether to continue negotiations or not. So in two days he tweets contradictory answers several times... Leadership!

And the media blames Pelosi for it and people fall for it. Boy they want a horse race this election don’t they? The poor state of our democracy really is the result of the media doing a horrendous job of informing the public. The road to authoritarianism is paved by intellectuals and media members who enable misinformation.

It’s Amazing.

What exactly is the party in power doing to help average Americans during this pandemic? Holding maskless rallies in Florida and judicial hearings in DC where the nominee refuses to answer questions on whether the president can delay an election? That’s what the poor working class people of this pandemic stricken country want? What prevents the Senate from delaying judicial hearings right now? If the stimulus was so important, why not pass it now and do the judicial hearings in the lame duck? Oh yeah, cuz Donald was 9 judges in the event he challenges the legitimacy of the election! Exactly what the covid stricken country wants and needs right now, right?

This is silly. We should be blasting the senate and White House for not passing the stimulus bill that the House passed in May. They had all summer to do it. Instead, senators have openly questioned even the need for additional spending (cited in My post you quoted). How is this on Pelosi and the House? Who the **** controls the Senate and White House?

“Siri, what is leadership?”

If Democrats win the White House but Fail to take the senate and Mitch refuses to pass any stimulus, why Shouldn’t he be seen as the villain here? The House and executive would be in support of a stimulus but not the senate. Annnnddd that would be on Pelosi not McConnell??? I get that the media will probably portray is that way. But caving to mcconnell just continues to shift the Overton window to the right.

I’d rather just take the White House and a senate, blow up the filibuster, and stimulate the **** out of the economy in 2021. Republicans can go back to the backseat and pretend to care about fiscal discipline for the foreseeable future.

Clearly, this is on Pelosi. She needs to get her **** together... /s

One thing is clear. Neither the Dems/Libs/Repubs give a single **** about the average working American.

That’s your takeaway when Democrats passed nearly a $3 trillion dollar package in May? While the senate offers $300 billion? Um...

This. They passed one stimulus earlier this year but more is needed. Can't come to a resolution. Meanwhile they aren't missing any paychecks.

which is why the House passed another stimulus in May, worth $3 trillion. What’s the Senate working on?

So here is what real news should look like. Pelosi gets asked some tough questions and cracks like an egg. You don't see this much from CNN, a few times a year.
She calls Wolf a Republican apologist after one question :D

So let’s get this straight:
  1. In May the House passed a stimulus of $3 trillion.
  2. Over the summer Senate republicans openly questioned the need for another.
  3. The virus didn’t go away so Senate Republicans a few weeks ago offered $300 billion, a paltry sum.
  4. Pelosi has offered to go as low as $2.2 trillion. Trump last week changed his mind 3-4 times before deciding that $1.8 trillion is a solid number. He’s desperate to improve his chances of winning re-election.
  5. The senate has rejected the $1.8 trillion dollar number and is now focused on replacing RBG on the Supreme Court. The Senate also has zero incentive to work with Trump, as McConnell knows that Trump’s chances of winning are slim. As a result, Mcconnell doesn’t want to pass any stimulus. He has no incentive to help a Biden presidency.

But sure, let’s blame both sides. Facts be damned.

I just don’t know how a democracy survives when such a large segment of the population is so disengaged and poorly informed. You have a large segment that believes in Q ******** on Facebook. But then you have a disengaged segment which has the attention span of squirrels. A democracy cannot function like this.

We may not like Pelosi. Her recent interview on CNN was bad. But she’s offering Americans between $2.2 trillion and $3 trillion. Her party passed the $3 trillion way back in May. Senate republicans are still sitting on it. Senate Republicans are offering $300 billion. If you think both parties are the same here then I don’t know what to tell ya.

You see CNN attack Democrats all the time. They have Rick Santorum on their political panel at night. When was the last time Fox News invited a former Democratic Senator to join their political panel?

Pelosi was a disaster in that interview. Dems are atrocious at being terrible at politics (but much better with policy). Republicans, are quite the opposite. Just see at how well they’ve successfully demonized obamacare yet haven’t come up with a replacement in 10 years.

I wish the MSM held Trump’s feet to the fire. Does he believe that Seal Team 6 is dead? Does he really believe Osama Bin Laden is alive? What is his secret health care plan that he keeps bragging about? We need details. What is his vision for a 2nd term? I know he’s flubbed this at least 3 times on Hannity’s show. Maybe this time he’ll be able to hit this tee ball?

Look at all the desperate distractions and October Surprise deflection. Swamp tactics. Nice. Sad.

Sorry the bars too low, R’s. You’re garbage just won’t cut it this time.
