At their peaks or assuming they grew up for any era?

My argument is that MJ at his prime would have struggled more today. BUT, if MJ had grown up preparing for today, he would have evolved to still be a top 5 player.

That is just wild to me. I am definitely not in agreement with a lot of older people regarding the LeBron/Jordan debate I think LeBron is obviously better but Jordan was the best finisher in the game and played when there was hand checking. Let’s not get ridiculous.

You give MJ modern day technology, science, training he'd be even more dominant. The man was psychotic, narcissistic, and did whatever it took to get a competitive edge over his opponents. I don't think athletes today could handle MJ's reverse psychology. Lol a lot of them are Charmin soft.

Well I wouldn't say obviously, because LBJ and Jordan is like apples and oranges. LeBron is a better facilitator and all around player, and has kept his body in absolute great shape to stay elite longer, but Jordan had far better killer instinct and a better clutch gene. He was also a better winner, and did a lot with less than what LeBron was gifted. Pippen wasn't a superstar, no matter how people want to cut it.

LeBron had to go to DWade to win his first two rings. Granted he didn't have a true robin in his first stint in Cleveland, but bailing to go join forces with Dwyane in Miami was a cop out.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, lol and I respect that but I fully believe a 2k sim will give far more accurate results than popular opinion. I think comparing voting to sim this year will be quite fun to see how people's opinions differ from a simulation. Plus people will get to see their squads come to life as I'll run live Sims of the last 5 minutes of each "Win or go home" game. Should be interesting and have people on the edge of their seat.

And idk if I tagged you in the video I posted, but it was a 2k sim of each all time great team . The All Time Magic were dead last, with McGrady taking home the league scoring title. They cited Shaq and McGrady not being compatible and having chemistry issues. I could see that happening in real life, too.

Run it a few times. I think it's fun to do and watch. I like to play 2k most years. When I ran it for our league 2 years ago it was different every time. Some teams generally were near the top, but not always. I had multiple times teams come in last one time and first the next. Even watching the games you posted were pretty unrealistic and wonky games at best.

Fair enough, I enjoyed running the 2k for current players 2 years ago. It gave me an excuse to buy it that year.

It's possible, but could he handle the more physical 80's, and the Pistons trying to bludgeon him each playoff game? And the technology, training, and modern day science comparison of the 80s-90s was far less advanced from the 00's-present. LeBron wouldn't have had the training advantages he had as a teenager to now. The difference in eras is what makes this apples to oranges. LeBron has a lot of buddies in the league today. Back then, opponents would of had a bounty on his head.

Who is the best perimeter defender that Michael Jordan faced in his prime?

Probably the glove.

This is funny considering the rule changes that have happened in the last decade to make the offensive player essentially untouchable, and Jordan dominated in the day when hand-and body-checking were not just allowed but common and rough. There were no flops. Jordan would be untouchable in today's NBA and would average 40+ fairly easily. He was one of if not the smartest, highest-BBIQ player of all-time. You forget also that facing players "trained to stop players like Jordan" he would have been going through the same training and learning how to score against that kind of defense. And with modern training he would have had even more weapons. People keep trying to look at this like a Connecticut Yankee in king Arthur's court situation, but it wouldn't be that way if you are really running the hypothetical to it's logical outcome. It isn't about picking up a player exactly as they were on some day in 1986 and just dropping them into a championship game in 2023. You have to consider how that player would have played if they came on the scene as a draft pick like in 2016 or something. Along with all the modern advantages current players get, including coaching and training and medicine. And with that taken into consideration Michael would have likely been even more dominant, especially considering the rule changes to favor a player like him.

How would you explain away LeBron with Wade and Bosh losing to Dirk and a bunch of role players of varying talent? Can’t imagine this happening to Jordan.
