2023 NBA Draft Megathread

If he's able to put on some weight he's going to be dangerous for sure. Super quick and a great handle. He's going to be absolutely dangerous in NBA space. I can see why he gets the hype, he's just on the smaller size of what you would ideally want your 2-guard to be. The fact that he's coming out this aggressive after being out with an injury tells me he has the "it" factor of a #1 option type.

I assume he plays at the 1, no? And my comp's off. He's not as quick and shifty as Nick the Quick.

Your comps are awful my guy. He's extremely quick and shifty and if you are judging him off his recent tape he's coming off a knee injury.

And he's not a 1, he's a 2 or a combo.

I love my comps... His slight build and swagger remind me of Nick Van Exel, but I'm not seeing the burst. This is Nick Van Exel all grown up.

This is at Cincinnati. Unfortunately, it was edited on a toaster.

I remember 2 years ago when Chad Ford had Mayer as a first round pick, since then (end of his Junior year) he has been getting worse.

Dude is having a terrible year, but he still has that NBA potential just due to his size and relative athletic/shooting ability. Probably not a draftable player, but maybe a guy who could develop into a role player.

Then you see him make this kind of block then absolutely sauce Dillion Mitchell with a filthy step-back 3 and it makes no sense why he has been so mediocre these past two years.

Someone said a few pages back that GG Jackson was a hard prospect to scout, which I really disagree with.

A hard prospect to scout is Emoni Bates. I'm a Bates hater, but damn is he a talented scorer. He does nothing else, but he can play iso ball and get buckets. Will be fun for someone's G-League team. If you can teach him to round out his game, you might have something. Will anyone actually take a chance on him? I wouldn't, but two teams drafted Patrick Baldwin Jr (Warriors) and Peyton Watson (Nuggets) in the first round last draft so anything can happen.
