2023 NBA Draft Megathread

solid athlete great paint presence and movement defender with floor stretching and some signs of a decent bbiq is intriguing.
I misread your post and though you said Taylor was not a good athlete… you were talking Jett… my bad. With Jett even if he is some version of Cam Johnson type of player that can be really valuable.

Hendricks adequate shooting was slept on a lot in the recruiting process, not so much now imo.
I like him as a late riser like J Williams last draft, where he might be an option with one of our first two picks, but probably a reach in the top 14.
Jett has the tools and an elite bbiq. Cannot argue him being taken 9-16, but his lack of even average NBA athleticism, could push him down boards. I think he will struggle some at the next level, defensively but the offense will transfer enough to not care.

The only thing separating Hendricks from GG Jackson right now for me is GG's handle and shift off the dribble. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Hendricks actually has some of that aspect to his game. He's got solid athleticism, balance and body control along with quick hands. He's got the physical tools to develop into a more diverse offensive player.

Jett needs to work on this core strength, burst and lift. Even without that though, he's got enough mobility to play that Klay Thompson/Kevin Huerter role. He's just not a guy who gets on top of the rim right now.

He kind of reminds me of Steve Smith. I feel like he has more upside than Klay and Kevin as a ballhandler/initiator. I have a feeling he probably sticks around for another year though with his dad being the coach and his family not needing nba money.

love his potential as a CJ type offense only wing imo more than a 2 way player like a younger Klay. I don't think he ever has the defensive back mobility you want in a defender though.

You would think, if he had that aspect to his game though, he would be using it given where he is. Its not like he has anyone better in front of him. Like the potential, not a high floor guy though imo

Cam was an exceptional rebounder coming in though so not sure I see the comp there but maybe for Hawkins lol

He doesn't have Klay's defense, you're right there. But he can run off screens and pin-downs and shoot on a dime.

People thought Johnson would suck on defense. So that is the comp I'm using for Jett. He might have more on ball and less on defense/rebounding... ain't too worried about rebounding with Jett though.

I wish their team wasn't so awful... would be easier to see if he could pass or not. That shot selection makes me itch... but it might be more necessity or because he is given too much leash. He's intriguing but I'm not taking him over Amen, Miller, Whitmore, Black and prolly not Nick Smith (though I'm not a big fan). I can see someone going top 10 and I would feel way more comfortable with him in the late lotto or mid first. Interviews and off court research would be big in my evaluation.

I agree I don't know how much or how successful if you will, his game will translate to the next level. Has talent for sure, but just don't think top 5 at this point. Also, I have a gripe against the dude being a Tar Heel fan as he was supposed to come to us practically all the way up to signing day lol.
