"Conversations with scouts on the road have indicated a profound lack of enthusiasm for basically any player outside the top two in this year's draft," John Hollinger of The Athletic reported. "I'm not even sure the vibes I'm getting could be called lukewarm; I'll optimistically call them lukecold."
This is laugh out loud stupid.

How far a can we climb if we package our pick and T’Wolves?

Similar to what Dallas did to get Doncic?

It’s Miller or Keyonte or bust for me this year.

They dont want to give away "their guy". Top two is obvious, but who do you like at #3, #4 etc are the cards they dont want to show yet.

I don't get it...why before was this thought of as a deep draft? Is it mainly the abundance of wings and nothing else? I put stock into what the scouts are saying but how could this disconnect happen?

This is a deep draft. There are so many guys that project as really solid role players. There aren't a lot of guys that project as bonafide stars but I think there are quite a few guys with serious upside if a few things click.

Yep. Everything about his game screams solid role player to me. He has also done a good job of adding good weight over the last year and could probably add another 15 pounds pretty easy if his future is at the 3 spot.
He's 18.8 years old and going on a hot streak in the GLeague. Think hes more than a solid role player.

Thats exactly what most people say about every "normal" draft class, with the exception of obviously bad one's.
This draft is better than I expected it would be, barring a lot of prospects returning to school, but that's because I saw it as being overrated by the average NBA fan.
Turns out it is about the same as most draft classes.
With the exception of 1 generational talent, if he can stay healthy, and a ton of highly athletic decent sized playmaking wings there is nothing deep about this class over any of recent memory.

The thing that hurts this draft a lot, or the perception of it, is that a lot of the (perceived) 2nd top tier guys have been disappointing. Whitmore/NSJ/Whitehead/Lively/Proctor/Mitchell (off the top of my head) where all pre-season projected lottery picks who have been underwhelming.

I think the nerds like us get excited about the mid-tier talent, but when you hear the talks about strong/weak it's usually referring to top end talent.
