2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Also, Filipowski has a much better looking shot. Hendricks shot better, but they were equal in FT%. If you take out an 8 game stretch for Hendricks where he was on fire from 3 (61%) he only shot 32% from 3 on the year.

Something I’ve been thinking about lately is the matter of a perimeter player that can get their own shot and ideally can play the 3.

GG is likely the only player in this draft that could maybe do that one day and is on the board when the Jazz draft. That’s important because dudes that can do that basically never go on the market or found at the end of the draft (Jimmy Butler is the only one that comes to mind).

No way in hell I draft him with the first pick due to his warts and the opportunity cost, but if Wallace/Dick/Black are off the board with the Wolves pick (and the Jazz can’t trade up), I would not be upset with the big swing on GG there.
Nikola Durisic, Sensabuagh, Maxwell Lewis, Dariq Whitehead (depending on how he measures) all fit that description as well.

And according to ESPN (https://www.espn.com/nba/stats/player/_/position/small-forward) the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th leading scorers who are defined as SF's were drafted in the late first to early 2nd round, so not as rare as you think.

IF Sensabaugh puts up a really good wingspan number (which seems possible, he has very broad shoulders and a wide body, could easily see him being a 7' wingspan) what's the argument for having GG over Sensabaugh?

Neither defends or passes, but at least Sensabaugh is an efficient shot maker and shooter.

The Hendricks fanbase runs off hype and fumes, they dont have time for thinking.
Hilarious coming from the guy who stated he invented Taylor Hendricks… but this the man that said Walker Kessler belonged in the g league and told me Tony Bradley was a poor man’s Lemarcus Aldridge so please continue on with the great pearls of wisdom.

GG Jackson's best skill is taking hard shots. I'm still not convinced GG Jackson is a better prospect than his prospect twin from last year, Emoni Bates. The only difference is one has some lean mass and the other doesnt.

Ultimately with GG there just isnt a wide enough skill base for me to get super excited about him. Obviously a talented shot taker, but there are no other standout skills other than the size/athleticism combination.

Is Durisic the most underrated high potential prospect in teh 2nd round? His recent games (like the last handful of months) just arent getting uploaded to social media so it's hard to say how he is looking recently other than just raw stats from RealGM. He just turned 19 and he's a 6'8 athletic point forward with a questionable shot, but the form looks workable.

Be careful you are swimming in my territory. The sharks aren't friendly.

Trae, Luka, Donovan and so on are crappy defenders but their team makes it work. What if you drafted a great defensive supporting cast and you plop in great shot maker who makes shots better than Donovan?
