2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

How does one even fix the Hawks? Collins got worse every year under the Hawks, so why would they believe he could actually help them? The only way you are truly helping the Hawks is giving them Kessler.
That could be on the table, also, depending on how the FO is seeing the timetable on the rebuild and if the Hawks are down to throw in some real draft capital.

Collins was also dealing with injury his last season. It would be some wacky all-time ****ery to just do them a solid to **** over a competitor but if anyone would go there it’s Ainge and I would be here for it.

Are people here just embracing the idea of the eternal tank? Draft, develop and trade 2-3 years later? Agbaji and Fontecchio last year, Kessler - this year, Hendricks and Keyonte - next season... What is the end goal of that?
Increasing your swings at bat for home runs. Once you get a home run or two then it’s go time. Currently, we got a couple on base but nothing approaching a home run.

So that after you hit that homerun you start swinging with your picks to fill out the roster with quality role players like Kessler?

Will the Spurs get in on Butler?

Kind of makes sense. They have the assets. Keldon+Barnes+any of their minimum guys works. Spurs would suddenly become a title contender this year.

More or less. I’m not trying to dump him overboard, I just think thinking of trading him in general is worth considering when weighed against the return and where we actually are in the rebuild.

What if the Spurs just went "all out" to win this year? I think they would only have to send a single pick out to the Heat to get this done.

All out in quotations, because they would be giving very little up.

The Lakers have to sacrifice their first born for Walker. If they think we’re gonna dump him for trash so they can obliterate the value of our pick (and additional draft assets after the trade), they are ****ing high. They are still a fragile build until they sort out the rim protection and defense and right now they couldn’t stop a nosebleed.
What this means:
-Reeves
-‘31 first unprotected
-‘27 protections removed
-‘28 and ‘30 swaps
-all their available 2nds
-begging

Probably still isn’t enough.

No way in hell.
It would be such a low cost to the Spurs given how small Butler's market seems to be. Maybe they get lucky and Butler gets squeezed in UFA and he just comes back on a good contract because he wants to win rings with Wemby/Fox.
