2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

If Hardy doesn’t want to play Sexton we should consider moving him.
Yep.
His minutes are down from last season despite his efficiency being up (which is impressive considering how efficient he was last year).

His assist to turnover ratio is bad this season but he is shooting 56.3% from the field and 40% from three with an efg of 59.4%. He is getting to the line more as well and rebounding better too.

I completely understand why Hardy doesn't like Sexton and why people may doubt him. I would probably consider myself a doubter myself....but it brings his preference for Key/Clarkson into question. It's not like the guys he prefers are the smartest, hardest working players on the court.

That’s the biggest thing and always has been. Why so hard on Sexton and lenient on guys who play worse?

And all these players basically have the same warts. If you were to tell me what's wrong with them as players, you'd say the same thing. They're all ballhogs, chuckers, can't play defense, etc. Fair criticisms of Sexton, but also fair criticisms of the other options. Truthfully, the only thing that I can come up with that separates Sexton from Key/Clarkson is that he's actually efficient.

If the Jazz really don't believe in him, just move on. Current situation benefits no one.

Being efficient is a big difference in my eyes but in the end they do all have the same issues.

The other thing is....you don't even need the others to get less minutes to play Sexton more. I love Patty, but I don't even think he thought he expects minutes this year. We could very easily give some of Patty's minutes to Sexton.

I have a dual mind when it comes to this. I sincerely think Hardy is in on the tank and may have some level of buy in. I'm less indignant about the mistreatment of Collin Sexton this year since I don't want us to win. If the Keyonte adventure fails I wonder if Collin is the backup plan. He's not a pg but as a lead creator he is so far ahead of Key right now.
I mean, they might call it “seeing what we’ve got and developing the young guys” but from John Collins to Will Hardy, they’re in on the tank. Lauri knew before signing what the plan was.

These guys are smart and they know basketball. It’s their industry. They know what the general strategy is for a small market team to build a contender.

We’re still in the first chapters of the Hardy era. This board is going to be ****ing fun in 2029.

So about that sexton situation. I guess we bench him bc it’s better for Key? Why is he here then if he can’t play with golden boy?

I seriously can’t see how this situation benefits either party.

Playing two tiny guards isn't ideal and he's the only other guard we have that you can trust to be the primary ball handler with the second unit

I'd imagine that we'll see countless lineups this season just to see if we can find anything that works well or sticks

They benched him because he makes the most mental mistakes on the team on both ends.
