2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Whitmore just fell out of Udoka’s rotation in Houston. They simply got way too many talented young players to figure out and it ain't like Cody/Brice/Key these kids can actually play. Vanvleet has been a disaster and he's not justifying his minutes or contract. They probably have to make some moves soon cuz they are too talented to not make the playoffs. We give them two vets who can help them win now and we get an exiting young talent who can bring the crowd to its feet.

Those back to back dunks on Walker is what sell you tickets.

If Houston is concerned about making the playoffs, getting rid of Van Vleet is probably the worst thing they can do. Van Vleet was their best player last year, and despite some really bad games to start the season, will likely be one of their best players this year as well. When a player has a bad stretch during the middle of the season nobody notices, but when it's at the first of the year it gets more attention than it deserves.

From a Jazz perspective this would be amazing. Van Vleet has a club option for next year.

But the Jazz dont want a FVV. Too old. Not good enough. Overpaid.

FVV has been a disaster? He's had a rough start offensively but has also been HOU's best player since he signed there. They can't win anything without him and are not trading him.

You may disagree with HOU's pursuit of the playoffs, but the fact is that's what they're gunning for and FVV is the most important piece to that puzzle right now. The idea that JC and JC are going to help them win more games is incredibly laughable. Justifying the trade by saying HOU has too much depth and then giving them more depth is comical.

I personally wouödnt mind this but Whitmore was reportedly "not an option" for us in the 2023 draft, and I dont know why that was but I suspect it hasnt changed.

Out of FVV, Whitmore, JC, and JC.....JC and JC are by far the worst two assets for HOU. I expect mock trades to be extremely Jazz favored, but this is ridiculous lol.

I'd rather have that salary amount split among two contracts.
Why?

Maybe you aren't understanding that FVV has a club option next year. We would be trading for an expiring contract if we wanted to treat it that way. Trading away the JCs for an expiring contract is the best we can hope for in my opinion.

Do Jazz really want another undersized PG?
Do they want someone who may drop them out of a couple top 5 picks over next two years?
Do they want someone who may not be the missing piece?

I've been optimistic about Collins recently, but let's be real....if we got an expiring for those two we should take it and run. FVV would certainly have value to other teams (including HOU, he's their best player)....but even if we instantly released FVV we'd be better off without JC x2 on the books next season.

People are out of their minds if they think having FVV is worse than JCx2 lol.
