ANd people thought that of Rozier?

If a teams need a scoring guard off the bench, Sexton will have a market.

If we clear out Collins then we can maybe play in the FA market if we want or we can work the sign and trade route using Sexton JC.

I can see a three team deal with Collins going to NOP and Ingram going to the Lakers with DLo and stuff coming this way (Rui?) but Lakers need to provide the draft capital there. Maybe they would want Collins instead but Ingram is the bigger name obvi.

The Huerter->Anthony idea is that we get a better pick. I don't actually want Anthony. Taking on his contract provides more value to ORL and hence they would be willing to give more compensation. I'm willing to take on the extra salary here for more draft compensation, that would likely be the goal anyways if we were to clear out space.

ORL is in a salary crunch for next year, so I could also see someone like DLO being rerouted to them. His expiring would be valuable to them and he is an upgrade. I had mocked that kind of trade earlier with Sexton->LAL, DLO->ORL, and Anthony+picks->UTA.

I think that teams will look at other players first if the price is right. Schroeder and Cam Thomas are likely in the bargain bin right now begging to be taken home. I just think it might be a role teams try to get away with finding a cheap option rather than one that costs a first that is the premium version of that player type.

Rozier was balling out before he got traded and at the time MIA wasn't trading for him to be their backup like teams would with Sexton at the moment. I'm pretty sure everyone hated that trade for MIA anyways. I don't think Rozier is a terrible reference point, but I don't thinks a situation where history will repeat itself and I also think Rozier's reputation still exceeded Sexton.

If Sexton was producing at the level he was last year once he became the starter, I could see that...but right now I can't see a team who would pencil him in as a starter playing big minutes.

I can see that. We would kinda need a couple deals. I think just too much has to line up so will keep my personal expectations super low.

Pat Riley must be down so bad right now. Getting swindled by the Horncats.... rough. Was a bad deal at the time... made worse by Rozier never being healthy. I worry Ainge does the same impatient thing and ends up buying something stupid. I will take holding and doing nothing and finishing bottom 4 this year as a win.

They kinda blew up their "superstar trade package" as well. Just a really head scratching move. Before CHO was decimated, I had kind of wondered if we could give them Sexton for that exact pick which was traded for Rozier. Needed better play from both CHO and Sexton if that were to happen though.

I do have some similar concerns about DA being impatient. How much truth was there to his "almost" trades and quick rebuilding plans? Who knows, but I think if we were ever going to do a quicker rebuild our younger guys would have needed to pop. Like if Keyonte was actually Lisan Al Ghaib I could see us being good pretty quickly, but I don't think that's in the cards.

It's totally fine to just keep tanking, but the likelihood of actually executing a good, quick rebuild gets lower by the day and I don't want DA to try to force it.

There is going to be a pivot point this summer where I could see a win now type of move or a trade Lauri and elongate the tank. I could also see us trying one more tank with Lauri year. I know a bunch of the base thinks this is a two year process but I am convinced Ainge doesn't map things out that rigidly and I think there will be some things "on sale" that may be tough to pass up.

If they land a top 4 pick and feel good about the rookie I can see them slamming on the gas OR doing a unite the timeline thing where they move Lauri.
