2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

@Ferguson_Mellochill

Actually now that I think about it, Tyler Smiths fluidity and size reminds me a lot of GG Jackson.

I haven't watched Smith much, just a moment here and there. He looks like a solid 6'9", he's fairly athletic and he's got a nice shooting stroke from deep. GG's thing is his ability to create space for himself off the dribble. He can get shots off, and recently they've started going in. GG looked like he's made a real study of Jayson Tatum.

I think Risarcher could be like the French Gordon Hayward. Not super glamorous, but glues things together and has a 2-way impact. He could put up something like 14/7/6 and guard multiple positions.

If I were the Jazz, I'd be taking a hard look at Topic, Buzelis and Risarcher. All should be inside the top 10. The good thing about this draft is that the Jazz will have a top-10 pick, or they won't pick at all. So we can focus towards the top of the draft. Castle makes some sense too, but he plays a bit slow. I'm not sure if it's because he is slow, or if he just plays that way. Physically, he's giving me Troy Brown vibes, but he's a bit more versatile as a scorer.

With so much parity in this draft, if the Jazz end up with a pick, I think positional flexibility and team need.

I would be ok drafting someone with a higher floor and a lower ceiling. There will be homerun picks in this draft but I am not sure it is in the top 10.

I have said it before and I will say it again the 3 main characteristics I am looking for is defense, shooting and ball movement.

Also I see this with the jazz

George - i see him right now as our future at PG. So not as concerned about this position as much any more.

Dunn - is a journey man that is nothing more than a back up 3rd string pg. I like his defense. I prefer him to be a 3rd string pg.

THT - not sure because of his pending free agency. Might not be a jazz man in the future.

Sexton - could be a solid 6th man in the Clarkson mold. I could live with this if he buys into that roll.

Agbaji - I like him a lot as a 3 &D but he needs more consistency as a shooter and better D. If he develops as a shut down defender he is just what the jazz need.

Clarkson - he is the flamethrower. I am glad he is back to that. Honestly I would like to see him traded away near the deadline. He is going to win games for the jazz.

Markkanen - he can be a building block for a championship team. I feel he is best suited as a 4. Question is is he worth more as an asset building block or a playing building block?

Sensabaugh - I am getting excited about his potential off the bench as a microwave scorer. Biggest question is will his defense allow him to stay on the court.

Fonticchio - I hope he is gone soon.

Hendricks - if he can develop some flexibility and strength he might be a solid contributer. His shot blocking is real as I think his shooting is.

Collins - is the kind of player every team wants in their rotation. He has been solid for the Jazz. Problem is he plays the same position as our best player. Nice piece for a small ball 5.

Kessler - I think he could be a solid starting center. I think he has potential.

Sarr, Buzelis and Topic have potential to be home-run picks if they pan out, imo. Risarcher, Castle and Dual could turn out to be really good picks. Collier too if that's a direction the Jazz would want to go.

This guy looks interesting. Plus, we could have headlines like, "Jazz playing the keys."

Seems like he was unranked by the major recruiting services, but had plenty of D1 offers. Went UNLV first year, lost his playing time as the season progressed and transferred out.

Give the fact he seems like a pretty legit 6'6 and is a solid athlete, I wonder what the story is there. Seems like a guy like this should at least be in the top 300.
