2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Reed shoots the piss out of it though. Like so many of his makes are the pure swish dead center shots. Not sure anyone expected that from Davion.
Yeah I'm not understanding the Davion mention. I never viewed Davion as a really good shooter.

Maybe....I just remember being confused as all hell as to how he got drafted so high. There were so many weird things people were hyping him up about, I think he jumped at least a couple spots because had the same number and initials as Don haha. To this day I'll say it.....Butler > Mitchell.

He was hyped as a defensive beast and has been very good on that end of the court but damn his offense is rough. I didn't expect him to be anything special on that end of the court but I thought he would be at least serviceable.

I mean you ain't gotta tell me nuthin about Jared Butler.

His shooting seemed obviously flukey, but I thought he could be good enough to keep defenses honest. That draft kinda had a break right around where the Kings were drafting.

man, dillingham and sheppard are so damn good. i wish they were both 2 or 3 inches taller.

couldn't be more impressed with sheppard's defense. also, in regard to sheppard, there were multiple times i saw him in HS playing against higher rated kids (and he was a highly rated kid himself to be fair), and he always outplayed them. dude can simply play the game. he's short, but that's a guy i'm betting on every time.
He was rated high by most services, but 247 had him like 77th compared to everyone else who had him between 20 and 40ish.

If you are focused on big guards, Proctor has to be on that list. I'd also put Dillingham and Reed in there even though they are smaller guards, they are just better than nearly everyone else in this draft class as far as game goes.

But yeah, that's about it. I'd want to put Tyler SMith on that list as well, but he's really just a role player. A slightly better version of Hendricks. The Jazz need players with actual game though.

I'd take Holland off that list as well. He would be on my do not draft list. Buzelis honestly might be on that list as well, but we havent seen him play yet. I'm not confident he's actually good.

If we are drafting like 10th then a guy like Ryan Dunn could be possible depending on how everything plays out (basically if everyone looks like **** and you just want to draft an insane athlete who actually plays active basketball unlike Hendricks). Cody Williams still has a chance to play himself into the top 10 as well.

Things will become more clear in conference play were these guys separate themselves in negative/positive ways.

I feel like Proctor is a bit soft, and he doesn't put consistent pressure on the rim. His shot has been falling though, and he has good feel working off of screens. I get the sense that Proctor is more likely late lottery, given the other quality guards in this draft.

Does anyone have the courage to draft a 6'2" white guy with limited tools in the top half of the lottery, even if he shoots like Mark Price?

Buzelis needs to come back from his injury. I keep watching videos of his work out with Flagg and I come away thinking he is similar but a lot less fluid as Flagg.

I see a lot of potential in Buzelis. I have read comps that compare Franz Wagner. That would be a perfect fit for the jazz. I just need to see him play.

I am very concerned about his defense.
