What's new

2024 NBA Offseason

Good move by Detroit. They didn't have minutes to develop Grimes. Get 3 second rounders for eating 16 million for a year. Hardaway could potentially get you a second rounder if he plays well at the deadline for a team looking to add shooting.

Yeah, Collins will be easier to trade next year when more of these guys get paid and his deal will look palatable for a year of solid production

I think the bigger takeaway is that the price for renting capspace is almost nothing. Or perhaps it’s that Dennis Lindsay is a dog **** executive.
Its about timing. Once teams see all the space they have and know the uses for that space are "meh" they make moves like that. I think we may find something for Collins this summer if teams end up missing out but no reason to pay any kind of premium now.

Possibly. At least no one is getting dumped for a first round pick

Right and midway through the year a player on an expiring could get hurt and a team decides Collins with another year left is fine. I just hope they bring him off the bench and decide trade value isn't a priority here.

Clarkson was a LOT worse than THJ....but maybe we should have gotten in their to dump him? 3 seconds is not that bad and we would not have had to take in Grimes. What is the cost of losing 30 MPG of development time on Clarkson?
