2025 Free Agency Thread

With the Lebron drama I do think we should consider the Lakers package if we restructure the draft comp

-2026 Lakers pick unprotected
-2027 super swap with our pick or the better of Minny/Cavs (other goes to phoenix)
-2030 swap
-2031 super swap with Phoenix or Utah
-2032 unprotected

Luka looks around at some point and sees all he has is Kessler and the promise of FA signings (maybe a spendy Reaves) does he ask out?
So we were converting our top 4 protected 2027 Lakers pick to a swap so that we can open up 2026 to trade? I mean it'd be hard to say no from the Jazz.

We gotta get off the churn carousel at some point, and Kessler would be great to have at that point, but if the Lakers are desperate then getting a 2026 unprotected pick from a Western conference team with a 41-year-old and Luka who is good to miss 20+ games a year is tempting

I would bet due to age and potential that Kessler could very well get more than Poeltl. Lakers PR publicly slobbering over him probably gives the agent more leverage too.
Kessler is better than Poetl, of course he will get more. Honestly, I think the Jazz already have a number. They may just be waiting around to see if an offer pops up that niether of the Jazz or Kessler can refuse. Musical chairs for centers is getting pretty intense.

Interesting that none of the 3 guys the Jazz have tried to move have any trade value (or a negative trade value). How much of that is on Danny Ainge and his relationships with other teams? I am surprised by Collins and was a little surprised by Sexton (not JC).

Man we really blew cap rental space of $40M a year for 3 years and ain't getting anything for it huh?

Cost us a couple draft spots maybe and like the equivalent of 10 second round picks?

I think the new CBA is part of the issue the Jazz could not move Sexton and Collins. I would love to work a 3-4 year extension with Collins at about $18 - $20 per year and try to move him in a year if the Jazz have somebody ready to take his place.
