2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

The man is truly made of balsa wood and wet toilet paper. Amazing. He owes LeBron everything for gifting him a ring.
AD was a monster in those bubble playoffs, so lets not rewrite history.

No one knows how he stayed glued in one piece for that run though. Maybe Lebron reinforced him with duct tape and thus deserves all the credit.

Well, it can be taken a step further and maybe the lack of pressure to be the "one and only" allowed for better management of his physical issues and allowed him to be at or near full-strength for those playoffs. We cannot discount the gravity of the greatest player of this or the last generation. One question that arises, that is really impossible to answer, is the KD question, that is, would LBJ and co. have won without AD, or with another player in his place? KD was a monster in the playoff run the Warriors won with him as well, but it is highly likely they would have won without him as well. Would the Lakers have won without AD? So the extension of that question is, would AD have won a ring without LBJ and the Lakers? That one is much easier to answer, absolutely not. So in many ways, it was still a gift.

Banned McMahon basically said Ja is done in Memphis. I think this ends with a Ja for Zach LaVine trade when Memphis realizes no one wants Ja. Maybe they get some draft stuff but nothing great.

Think it will be Lavine or Harden. We'll see if MEM can have someone take the bait.

Also, I don't think a Ja trade automatically means JJJ is traded....but when you trade Bane and Ja it certainly signals you're going a certain direction.

McMahon kinda indicated Memphis wants to build around him but that the feeling may not be mutual lol. He's been rough this year but maybe that's him pouting his way out of town?

I'd have big concerns on JJJ as it seems the trade price will be very high... but I'd get it. I do think he's a bit overrated.

Side note... still can't believe Sacramento reunited the LaVine/DeRozan pairing that was just "bleh" in Chicago.

Jaren is such a weird eval. I think he was definitely overrated when he won DPOY, now I'm not even sure how he's rated but I think he still has good ability. I'm somewhat intrigued but not in a break the bank kind of transaction.

Maybe a better target to take advantage of situation would be Aldama or Jerome (if he will ever play basketball again).

It sounds like the price is still the DPOY price. If it was more like the Bane price I could see it.

I also just think he lacks something mentally (toughness or IQ) that just prevents him from the issues he seems to have that are preventable.

JJJ is terrible right now. Career low PER, averaging more turnovers than assists as well as just 5.6rpg and 1.5bpg, lowest FTA since 20-21.

Dude is paid like a superstar but offers zero leadership, disappears in crunch time and is generally soft as hell.

Maybe being in a new environment that isn’t built by Dillon Brooks and led by Ja Morant could make a big difference.

That being said, I agree that JJJ is quite overrated and I’m not paying a premium price for him. If it’s basically Walker (and dead-ish salary?) straight across… maybe that’s something to think about. Some kind of youth consolidation trade for him that is minimal on draft compensation.

Memphis isnt going to want Walker that much.
