5 Teams With The Best Young Nucleus In The NBA

Can you imagine how good Hayward would be playing next to Davis? And if Exum became average offensively? With Hayward, Exum and Ingles shooting 40%+ from three, Davis would average either 30 a night or a triple double a night.

Here's the real question to see if I'm trading away too much:

Would NO take Favors, Hood and Gobert for Davis? Nope.

We would need to give NO more. Would NO take Favors, Gobert, Hood, Burke and Burks? Nope. Not enough.

The best player around is Le Bron. #2 is Davis. I'd give the world for Davis.

But then again I want to win a title.

Whatever. I'd rather CHEER for Gobert. That dude is fun to watch, and I want to be a part of wherever he is taking us. It amazes me that there are so many Jazz fans that still don't understand what we have put together here.

lol. So because I'd be willing to trade Gobert for the second or third best player in the NBA, I don't appreciate him?

Come on now. Anyways, this has gotten totally off track. I'm pumped for this season. Gobert, Exum and Favors and Hayward and Hood and Burks are going to be BALLS OUT.

We don't have a superstar, but we have seven guys that are solid, solid, solid.

Can't freaking wait until November.

You have a tendency to state opinions as if they are facts. That might make you feel very confident, but it does not make them true. I don't believe DL would make any of the trades you are proposing either, so does that prove that Brow isn't worth that much? No. It only proves that he's not worth that much at that time to DL.

Take a look at what NJ traded us for Derron. Was Derron worth it? Obviously NJ believed he was at the time of the trade, but I'm pretty sure they would take a do-over now if they could.

The point is that none of us know what career arc any of these players are going to follow. IMO, if it really would take that much to get AD then I believe we are better off without him.

One final thing: the fact that we disagree about this trade is not evidence that you want a championship and I don't.

I'd trade Favors, Gobert, Hood, Burke, Burks and Lyles for the Brow.

I'd be left wit Exum, Hayward, Ingles, Booker and Brow. And I'd probably win more games that NO.

If I have to give up that much I'd rather keep Gobert/Hood and part with Exum/Hayward.

Brow/Gobert/Hood > Brow/Hayward/Exum

Good gawd...Ingles and Booker as starters? Just double AD and Hayward whenever they get the ball. That team would struggle to finish at .500.

That is way to much for one player. Gobert is a generational defensive talent, Favors is a great defensive player. Hood is going to be fantastic. I'd honestly want more back in that trade. It would destroy the chemistry and defense this team has.

Why are these trade scenarios even being entertained. Why would the hornets even explore trading Davis? Even with dangling Gobert. They would say no to any deal the Jazz could come up with. Lol

Because it is late July and there is nothing else to talk about. No one thinks that these trades would even be entertained or even proposed by either team.

Just fans being fans in the offseason.

The best part is that we have a thread making fun of Boston fans for essentially doing the same thing.

To get back to the original topic, the depth of our young core is what makes our collection of talent so impressive (especially when you take into account the fact that we traded 2 1st rd draft picks for a player who has yet to develop as expected). We might lack that potential superstar (although Exum may have that type of ceiling & Gobert is already there defensively), but we more than make up for it by having a plethora of young players at every position. Rather than condense some of our lesser assets, the FO recognized that it takes a cohesive rotation (of 8-9 players) to win a championship. Putting all of your resources into the starting lineup is shortsighted as depth is an extremely important aspect of a championship caliber team (hence the Trey Lyles pick). As of right now, we project to have a solid 7 man rotation for the foreseeable future:

Exum
Burks
Hood
Hayward
Lyles
Favors
Gobert

Pleiss & Burke could also become part of the rotation. If Exum develops into a starting caliber PG, Burks fits into the offensive & defensive systems, Hood is able to stay relatively healthy, Hayward remains here long-term, & Lyles at least develops into a serviceable rotation player (I know, that's a lot of ifs), we appear to be one offensive player (if anything) short of having a truly championship caliber rotation. We may lack the potential star power of MIN with Wiggins & Towns, PHI with Noel, Okafor, & Embiid, or NOP with Davis, but we have by far a deeper & more cohesive collection of young talent than anyone else in the league. There are very few (if any) rosters that I would prefer to have for the next 10 years than the one that we currently have. If/when we finally win that 1st NBA title, a lot of it will be due to the depth of this team.

What I like is, it's looking like we can keep this team together for the long haul. Hopefully this group will continue to grow to be a well oiled machine like Sloan's and Pops teams that were together for ever.

I absolutely love this team and how they are developing with their youth. Glad to see other people are noticing that we are actually pretty loaded with good young players. I honestly think the Jazz are very close to being a contending team. If Exum, Hood, or Burks can make a big leap this season I think we are a lock for the playoffs...and I think at least one of those players make that leap. I'm a Burks homer, but I think he could play really well with this system. Hood looked way good at the end of the year, if he can stay healthy and keep improving he could be a potential all star.
And we all know that Exum is all about his potential.

Nt sure we are close to contending. That's not a knock on the team, just that they are still so young. They need to cut down on turnovers and mistakes and a large part of our contention rests on how fast Exum can improve. Remember it took Stockton and Malon's team like 10 years to get to that level
