A brush with destiny -- Celtics at Jazz 3/28/2018 7:30 pm MST

These last two home losses were brutal. We really just blew it here at the end. the 5th seed was ours for the taking, and it looks like we wont get it.
Inexcusable lack of rebounding, and focus when it mattered. Also, a horrible half to begin the game. Really sad right now.

Not sure anymore if I want to make the playoffs, and play Houston. I'm sadly kind of leaning towards a lottery pick, and coming back hungry next year.

We aren't ready for prime time, but we are awfully close. I want another scorer/shooter.

I can't stand opinions like this. I mean in this how you live your own life? You hit a bump in the road and you pack it all up and quit? What in the damn hell is wrong with you people?

Fair. I didn’t watch the end of the game and heard he finished strong.

What was he from 3 though? I know early he was 0-3 and just chucking away.

2-8 for three. Rough. At the same time, Utah needed to stretch the floor a bit. They denied the corner three very well, and we're not great from above the break.

Analytics is fine and well but if the threes aren't dropping common sense would be helpful. I have a hard time swallowing all these threes winning us or losing us each game. If we had a decent old school offensive game I feel we would see less huge swings in our offense. Be more consistent. I would hate to be a big rebounding just to chuck it out for another 3 point brick.

What a disappointing loss. We had it under control, and let these guys come back and steal it from us. Offence went toothless in last 2 minutes, was really sad to see how pros paid millions dollars can't figure out how to beat high school level zone. Oh well, of to the next one, and I hope Quin practices offence vs zone a lot from now on.

Way too much iso with Mitchell towards the end. We should mix it up a bit more.
Thing is - iso vs zone is exactly what zone is hopping for. It was up to Quin to recognise it and either call a quick timeout to fix it or somehow yell from the sidelines to Rubio to do something about it. Can't hope for rookie to figure it out without help.

This loss sucks. Hard. Most hyped game of the year. Depleted team (we always struggle against those), and we struggle to put it away. An awesome game thread punctuated with a catastrophic collapse.

Everyone's in the dumps, and that's fine. That's normal. But this talk of getting in the lottery reminds me of my oldest telling us he hates this family and he's going to run away. Somehow the threat gives him a sense of empowerment. Anyway, I've been saying since November and December that we're not a lottery team, that Rudy would come back, we'd go on a huge tear, and everyone would talk championship. Then we'd hit one last skid and people would look to throw themselves off bridges again. My initial hope back (see link) in mid-January was to get back in the playoffs and face Houston. That's still a good scenario. We play up to competition. Those guys are poised for an epic collapse in the post-season, it's just a matter of whether or not it coincides with us and if we can sustain some mental toughness against them. Anyway, I'm not saying that's who we'll face, but people thought that was a laughable idea.

I was initially going to duck out for a little while on making game threads after the Memphis game. I'm experiencing significant game-thread fatigue. But I'm going to hold it together for a few more games until some of the mopey bitch attitude clears out of this place.
