What's new

a trade thread: Orlando and Indy speculations

Reddick's contract is ugly relative to his contribution level. $12.5 million over the next two seasons for a specialist is a tough pill to swallow.

All the talk about Paul George makes me think Brandon Rush would actually be available and he's got a skillset the Jazz could use (perimeter defense and three point shooting). Dahntay Jones has also proven to be useful in the right situation.

No one on Orlando's roster gets me excited. Maybe Daniel Orton on a spec deal if we basically get him for free. But nothing other than that.

I'm not in love with Ryan Andersen, but you don't like him at all? And co-sign on the interest in Rush. Not much else on the Pacers (that might be available) that I'd like.

I don't believe he'd be available given his production and contract and as a result isn't worth talking about. Same reason I'm not mentioning Dwight Howard or Roy Hibbert.

Anderson is what Troy Murphy was a few years ago. Virtually identical skill sets.

Gotcha.

So, Kicky and NUMBERICA, neither of you think we could acquire George with Jefferson or Millsap being the main out-going piece? Or, are you just not interested in George?

I don't know a ton about George other than he's had some good games and I would've been content (and MUCH happier than with the Hayward pick, even though Hayward has turned out to be good) to draft him with #9, especially since he seemed to have superstar upside. I'd have to do more research though. I absolutely don't care about keeping Jefferson, so I'd be happy to part with him to get George since he seems like a good player to say the least.

Regarding Ryan Anderson, is it just me or is he going to struggle playing in an offense that doesn't evolve around shooting 3-pointers?

Not sure how he would do playing without Dwight.

I think he'd be fine in a number of offenses with drive and kick players (Chicago, Boston, OKC, Phoenix, GSW, etc) or teams that have passing big men (New York, LAC, Houston, even Memphis apparently).

He showed that he could be useful during the second half of his season with New Jersey without Dwight. I think there's enough evidence to indicate he's the real deal.

If you give it a green light Kicky, then I approve.
