What's new

Aaron Gordon....Are you serious? Disaster.....Disaster.....

They say every time you 'sigh' you shorten your life by a couple of months.

So, yeah,.....

If that were true, you would have shortened my life by years.. but I'm tougher than you. So my sighs as a result of your ineptness and tarditude only strengthens me and adds years to my life.

So.... you're saying keep it up????

I'm only too happy to oblige.

Just out of curiosity, did you ever see Scottie pippen play as a rookie? How much?

Hard to find any highlights of his rookie year, but here is a link to a YouTube clip from his rookie year playoff game. Nothing here changes my initial thoughts (and I have made this comparison all year to Arizona fans as well). You'll notice Pippen has the same dribble, lean through scoop shot. Gets most of his points off of put back dunks and layups. Good defender and had some nice passes. Also a bad free throw shooter. That type of game is what folks should expect for Gordon next year.

What most people here are not going to remember is that Pippen was not that great his rookie year. He had flashes of brilliance, and some really bad moments as well.

Also, so nobody is putting words in my mouth, I am not saying that Gordon is the next Pippen. I'm saying they are on similar levels right now. Pippen had a crazy work ethic, good coaching and a system he excelled in. Let's see if all of that combines for Gordon as well. Who knows. I do believe Gordon has the potential to warrant a #5 pick. I also think there are other players who have the talent and potential to warrant that pick.

Grew up in Central Illinois as a die-hard Bulls fan. Loved Scottie Pippen. Easily my favorite player from that team. He was the ultimate team player. There's definitely similarities to his game in Aaron Gordon.

Key things to remember. . . Pippen started as a 6'1" PG walk-on who grew to 6'8" 200 lbs in college. He was a really skinny rookie who struggled with strength and shooting, but stood out because of his elite athleticism and hustle. Always cutting to the basket. He was a 22 year old rookie, and it took him two full years at the NBA level to break out. During that time, he bulked up and worked his *** off to fix his shot.

Aaron Gordon is 18 and ripped compared to where Pippen was as a rookie, with the same level of athleticism. I'm encouraged by Gordon's fire and work ethic. Aaron Gordon will be a 6 year NBA pro by the time he's the same age that Scottie Pippen broke out. I can easily see him working tirelessly on his shot with pro coaches and developing a really solid mid-range game. I'm perfectly happy to take him at 5, but I'd be happy with any of the top 8 prospects. The Jazz will get at least one very good player from this draft. With how young and raw all of the top prospects are, it might be a few years before we know which ones are worth the hype.
