In other news, Moultrie is out 5 games because of a drug violation.

Getting High and being suspended > Tainting your game permanently by playing with Philly guards.

Why so much love for him? Specific reasons, please, as I do not follow college ball and the draftee thread is a train wreck.

He is an elite athlete with a high BBIQ. He has a relentless motor. He is an elite defender. He is the youngest player in the draft. He has serious holes in his game, but all signs indicate he is a hard-worker, so his upside is considerable.

Also a very natural ball handler, could tighten his handle, but he has play-making balhandling ability (for self and others).

His FT shooting sucks, but nothing is physically broken or out of whack like a MKG.

His upside, like the absolute best he could potentially be, would be like Shawn Marion with Igoudala handles and 3pt ability, and Blake Griffin body.

...that could be pretty sick. I love the length/athleticism of that starting 5.

Have we not learned anything about the ramifications of having too many poor shooters on the floor at one time? That's 3 players on the floor that can't really score outside of the paint. That would seriously be the worst offensive starting 5 in the league. It wouldn't even be close.

He is 18 until mid september. His athleticism and length rivals wiggins. He has better ball handling than any of the wings in this draft. He has a high BBIQ. He is a skilled passer. He can defend positions 1-4 extremely well. Unlike Parker, his tweener status isn't a concern because he has all the necessary skills to play NBA SF (defense, passing, incredible handles, elite athleticism), but struggles with shooting. Even though he struggles with shooting, he can still hit the occasional 3, and has the athleticism to get to the rim at will. Being 18, he could still grow. He understands team ball, but also has leadership qualities. Can play fast. Great in transition and open court. Style of play would compliment the games of Hayward, Burks, Neto, Evans, and any big who decides to run (which is Karl's message for success to Kanter and Favors--be first one down court). He's a very good rebounder. Him and Kanter on offensive glass would be unreal.

Outside of Wiggins, he is best fit for our team given our needs.

Serious tweener, pace of play, and defense questions with Parker.

Disagree. We suck now because our pace of play is completely wrong for this team. We have horrible defense and pace at the 1 because trey so far is a half court PG, but Hayward, and Burks are athletic wings who are elite in open floor. With poor pace and defense, we never see open floor, so our offense struggles.

Hayward was 5th best in league from 3 post December last year. I don't think he is suddenly incapable of hitting the 3, but I think our whole style of play has made it a lot harder for him. Letting Kanter shoot the 3 (even if he only makes 30% of them), would do wonders to the team's offense as a whole.

Our defensive style, and pace of offense is why we can't score or beat anyone.
