Aaron Gordon..Why do you want him?

The key is Andrew Wiggins. Get the first pick in the draft and you get a guy who makes it look easy. He can score and has the elite athleticism to be a top level defender.

Outside of that, you take the best player on your board and either fit him in or build around him. I have Wiggins, Parker, Embiid and Randle rated above Aaron Gordon. I'd take him over Exum, Smart and Vonleh. Doesn't mean the Jazz feel the same. As long as they get one if those 8 players I'll be really happy.

Kanter has that potential. Burks has that potential. It isn't like A. Gordon doesn't contribute either. The biggest problem with our offense this year was pace of play because of Trey (he admitted this today), and RJ being too old.

Next years lineup could be

Favors - can run
Kanter - can run
A. gordon - can run
Hayward - can run
Burke - has vowed to get faster so he can run

Bench:

Neto - can run
Burks - can run
Evabs - can run

Etc.

Vs a starting line of

Favors incentive will be to slow down for burke
Kanter - incentive will be to slow down for burke
Parker - can't run
Hayward - no one is running so he is frustrated and shooting poorly.
Burke - incentive will be to slow down for parker

We already have some excellent runners in this team, but we need more in the starting lineup, that's why my top 4 board is 1 wiggins, 2 Embiid, 3 A. Gordin (trade down and maximize value), 4 Exum

I hope you aren't serious.

Yes, but how often did he do that? If it was easier for him, he would've done it more. His movement isn't fluid like Wiggins, A. Gordon, or even some of the guys we already have on our team. He has never played fast continuously.

If I am wrong, and we get him (jabari), I will be ecstatic and be the first to eat my words.

If we get him and he (and by extension we) run at a pace that reflects our other athletes, and if he can guard NBA SF's like Lebron and KD, then Jazzfanz has permission to run a neg train on me next offseason. Book it.

I used to like Drew Gordon's game BTW.
He is in Euroland now and one hell of an athlete.
Let's have a Gordons' get-together this summer in SLC .

Drew, Aaron, Eric and Gordon Hayward. Can we make a spelling exception and include Giricek? Wonder if Lightfoot would joins us for some music: "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" could be adapted with lyrics to fit the Utah Jazz' season.

Just realizing that I am going to miss seeing Gordon play here in Tucson. That kind of sucks. Would especially suck if he went to Boston or the Lakers.

Like I said at the first he is explosive around the basket, which is what most of the video shows. His shooting scares me to death. With such a low free throw shooting percentage, you could not have him on the floor the last 5 minutes of the game. The other team would play hack a Gordon, but like what has been mentioned Malone made his free throw shooting a strength. If we take him, I will big time cheer for him and hope he becomes a stud for us.

From Hoopshype mock draft:

Pick 16. Aaron Gordon CHIPower Forward / 6-9ArizonaFreshman12.1 ppg, 7.8 rpgGordon is an explosive leaper and a great kid. He had a solid freshman season providing energy to a No.1 seed Arizona squad. He will impress teams in interviews and has proven himself as a focused, team-oriented player. He made an excellent impression on scouts last summer winning MVP of the Unde 19 Championships in Prague. He drew Blake Griffin comparisons coming into college, but it has become apparent to most that he lacks the size, power and all-around talent of Griffin. While he might benefit by returning to school, the other side of the coin is that if he doesn't show skill development in future seasons, he could easily slip from his current mid-first round projection. He started out the season determined to turn himself into a small forward, but it is apparent that his future is as a 4. His shooting has proven to be a real weakness, particularly from the line, however his vision and passing have been a pleasant surprise. While some envision a future star at the next level, look for Gordon to ultimately become an excellent defensive oriented, energy role player as a combo forward.
