Ace Bailey ROY watch

I was listening to the Zach Lowe podcast the other day and he had Stan Van Gundy on. He made an interesting point about players needing to not just be capable of shooting, dribbling, and passing, but it's more important that they know when to shoot, dribble or pass. Or in other words having quick decision making, instincts, basketball iq, are what makes a great nba player. I think we are seeing this with the young guys. One of the reasons Ace is looking good is because he makes quick and confident decisions.

My favorite Vegas SL memory was hearing Doc talk about Jared Cunningham (to Darvin Ham lol). He said Cunningham was an incredible, all star level player in a closed gym but once he gets on the court he crumbles from bad decisions. Doc ended up picking Cunningham over Ingles, and the rest is history.

Imagine the damage ace can do once he becomes a bigger part of this offense to me. It seems like they don’t do much to call place for him touches he kind of just sits in the corner and then when it becomes advantageous, he gets the ball and something happens. I think he’s gonna blow up the second half of the season as he gets more involved in the offense and becomes more aggressive, time will tell though.
Last night they ran more plays for him. In fact it seems like each game he gets a little bit more volume. Hardy is doing a great job with Ace.

It's why Jokić is the greatest player of this generation. He seems to always pick the correct choice from multiple options available.

is it possible Ace went from a guy everybody said can't pass prior to the draft and his place on the jazz, to okay he can pass a little, to maybe he's adequate, to possibly a plus passer in the NBA?
Let's wait till he post some assist totals over 3 in a game first.

Certainly seems that way. Assist numbers might not be high but just watching the games you can see the passing acumen on display. Not all good passes result in assists after all.
