What's new

Alec has taken over as our alpha dog.

If Alex is our alpha dog, we get lotto for next few years. he is decent but very very one dimensional. Not saying Hayward is the answer either..keep em both, good 3-4 options, maybe Gtime can move up to 2 option someday...Alex is 3-4 at best

One dimensional........ lol, he scores very well and efficiently, is a good passer, a good ball handler, and good rebounder.

People seriously underrate alecs ability to pass the ball and be a team player

If Hayward was putting up the kind of numbers Burks is right now, in the same minutes, the average poster would be talking about max money. For whatever reason people think what he's doing is a fluke.

Dude is probably one of the best in the league at getting to the rim and either scoring or drawing fouls/getting to the line. I don't think he's going to be a star but I believe he is AS important as Hayward if not likely more.

This

People hate on burks for some reason that I just cant understand. He gets a bad rap for being a chucker ball hog and its totally not true. He is a better shooter than he gets credit for too.
His biggest problem is guarding big physical players that post him up, but even that deficiency can be fixed somewhat by putting him on shooters and smaller quicker players.

Also he is a pretty good rebounder, with a good attitude and tons of confidence
I really don't see whats not to like about him. He is quiet, never bitches (even though he has had lots of reason to) works hard in the off season improving his game, has never had an injury, and seems like a great guy to have on your team.

I seriously would like someone to tell me what they don't like about burks. His game is pretty good, he is super young, never bitches, has a great attitude, tons of confidence, and is a hard worker.

I agree that Burks has been far and away the most impressive player this year. I think the coaching staff should start him if for no other reason than to take some pressure off Gordon. Hayward isn't good enough to be the only option--few players are. Put Alec out there and it'll maybe give Hayward a chance to breath. I know we won't have a scorer off the bench but who cares.

Alpha dog, leading scorer, the guy in whose hands they put the ball at the end of the game when points are needed, yet because he's not part of the starting lineup, once again only played 29 minutes.

I was at the game tonight on the 2nd row and it was fun watching Burks out there - talking, smiling, encouraging teammates, having fun, but once the ball is in play, he's an attacking, aggressive, skilled and athletic beast of an off guard.

So I see Alec is the new, He is the best eva!!! guy on the forums...ok, I will let it ride for a while until the bandwagoners turn on him...as they always do...

Best post of tonight! Been literally saying this to everyone almost verbatim.

Well Kanter will still be there and he gives the bench quite a punch too.

So I want to know.....

... is Alec good enough to be a #1 option on a good team?
... If Hayward struggles like this with burk as the alpha, would he be any different with Jabbari or any other alpha?
... If the jazz got a franchise player in the draft, could burks play second? Better than Hayward?
