it is your right to have one or not! never gonna force someone to have a gun! but i expect same courtesy form others to never force me to give up guns!


but everytime their is a mass shooting the threads go on for dozens of pages of all these gunphobes(yes i use this term sarcasticlaly, as a phobia is a medical term not a political term) come out of the woodwork to dane on the grave of the mass shooting victims! and use their death to push their political gun agenda!


but now that their are no graves to dance on for the moment! they are all hiding, and fail to see the problem of creeping tyranny!

How guns WILL stop tyranny.
How guns WILL stop an invading army.
How guns WILL stop 4-8 soldiers from suppressing a town completely.

You can't. An argument can be made for firearms assisting in a solution to these problems, but how often will any of these actually matter? Contrast that with ALL the other times where this isn't an issue, AND the weight that firearms will are not even close to an end all solution for any of these problems when they do come up.

May be true, but guns and American pride that went hand-in-hand definitely had a play in it:

My understanding is that he was talking more about the U.S. manufacturing capacity. Eventually we'd put enough shops on the water to beat them and they wouldn't be able to get to DC before that happened.

Haven't you ever seen Red Dawn. Of course teenage rednecks with rifles would stop the Russian (or North Korean, whatever) army single-handedly.


Seriously though, Madison, Jefferson and others of the framers of the constitution wrote about the need of the people to keep and bear arms as a deterrent to tyranical government, or more specifically, as a deterrent to our own government turning tyranical. Now, however, the american military machine is so overwhelming in its power that even if all of the armed people in the country fought in a very organized and coordinated way there would effectively be no way to mount any resistance should a true tyrant gain power in America and wield the full might of the military machine.

But an argument could also be made that the tradition of keeping and bearing arms to suppress any tyranical intentions has an impact on the individuals in our military and would prompt them to not support such a coupe attempt in the first place.

how about the whole mentality to keep guns!

their are sherrifs going on record saying they would not follow gun grab orders! and fight with civilians side by side!


it isnt just having the gun in the home or the law on paper!

it is a mentality of atleast half of the population that will suppress tyranny when it comes

the mentality is that far less than half the population will even recognize tyranny as it's taking hold
