Gratz elan very nice team. I like the 90's 2000's vibe. So recent compared to my ABA crush. Would do really good in a simulator site I'd reckon. Let's evaluate further.
Wilt against Dwight: Dwight's major upside in his career was to make use of defense failing to cover him to get close to the rim and force his way through or dunk as alley oop. His post game never got to a point to be a difference maker. Chamberlain was from a game of fundamentals and he was really comfortable around the rim. I'd like to see how badly he would show the strength difference between him and Howard when he used full force.
The Big E against Garnett: Big E had a signature turaround jumper that he built a career on. It was unstoppable. Garnett would come upper on athleticism, but I am liking the fact that Hayes is not undersized against him and would limit his contribution.
Dantley against Da Pip: Pippen plays immense D and gets fouled out early against one of the best foul drawers ever. Pippen also was a fantastic fast break wing and my team would get exploited in this regard if this strategy fails.
the Glide against Denzel Washington's son: Close one. Drexler can't follow him on perimeter. This aspect is my biggest gap on this matchup. But if elan does not go small ball and protects this 5, he will not have much spacing to allow Allen to exploit this. And on the other end of the court, there is no way Allen can stop Drexler's presence and passes.
Iverson vs Isiah: Close one. Great matchup. This is one of those matchups like Shaq vs. Chamberlain that I'd love to see in a best of 7. Both are extremely skilled, fast, crazy court vision. Isiah is the actual PG among the two. The impact on the game: Iverson never played in a team like this. He always enhanced his team to another level. I cannot imagine how well he would do here. Remembering the All-Star game where he beat Garnett et. al. Iverson is the perfect competitor to win this.
Bench:
Wall against Penny: I think John Wall would cut a lot of Penny's game. Bodily metrics won't leave him undersized as John Wall can go frenzy on steals in this matchup.
Marques Johnson vs Bosh:
Depending on;
Bosh at PF: George will end Bosh's offensive efficiency with physical dominance.
MJ vs Bosh: Pretty even.
Skywalker vs. RIP Hamilton: David Thompson will add a lot of points to the board.
Sabonis vs Cousins: Inside it won't be any trouble. I'll need to find switch solutions for outside threat but Cousins never loved perimeter anyway.
George McGinnis vs. Bobby Jones: George will struggle on O. But will dominate physically on D.
