The Admiral is easily a better offensive player & better player overall than Yao.

D-Rob averaged 25+ PPG for 4 seasons and Yao did it 1 season.

Yao is 7'6, and never averaged 11+ RPG, while Robinson did it 5 times.

and yet drob score 72 in a game and yao wouldn't come within light years of that.

because yao can't get that many attempts. yao has trouble getting the ball against the double team. but even with his physical limitation, he avg 25pts in 33 min his peak. he was on his way to be a 28/10 guy. too bad his body couldn't last long.

it's like MJ can never score 100pts because he doesn't shoot 3s. but kobe could if he decided to shoot everytime he has the ball.

Lol, wut? Yao averaged 17 FGA per game and 8.6 FT attempts per game in 2006-07 and barely cracked 25 PPG.

Wow, against the most underachieving center in the history of the game. Good job. Good thing he's not DRob.

you said he doesn't match up well with anybody. he torched DPOY of this era. and i never ever mentioned yao's defensive ability. he can be a defensive liability against run & gun team with small stretch 5 center.

but that's not what we are arguing. i'm only talking about yao's offensive ability for this loaded team. he is teaming up with great teams who will demand double teams at every possession. you can't double yao for this team because there is nobody you can leave open. drob will neutralize yao, but yao will get his 16-18pts regardless because he is such a tall player who can shoot over anybody for this team. and on defensive end, yao has plenty of help. yao's sheer size always have been a plus against true centers. in yao's peak, yao had better of aging shaq, who was definitely a shell of his former self, but still was considered top 3 center in the league.

and? what are you trying to say? yao avg. 25pts in 33.8min. 26.6 per 36. better than any of drob's season per 36 wise. drob's best was 26.5 and that's when he was clear cut lead dog. yao couldn't play more than 35 min, and he had to share the offensive load with tmac.

and yao's fg% is not as good because he shot jumpers alot.

and yao never truly reached his peak due to his injury. 2009 -2011 would've been his true peak.

You said he had limited touches?

With all your love for older players Fabtrey, you sure aren't giving any love to the depth of my front court.

A little bit off topic, but I think rings in these type of discussions are irrelevant, tbh.

Damn, that's a lot of excuses.

David Robinson would ear Yao ' s lunch.
