Alumni of the Night

And the other alumnus of the night is?

Sorry, one of my pet peeves is the "insert name of university" Alumni stickers. Unless you and your SO or car pool buddy both graduated from the same university, it should be "Alumnus."

Blind squirrel comes to mind when I see those numbers for Kosta. You never know, though. Perhaps in 6 years the light goes on and his career path follows that of Humphries.

Give the alumno the benefit of the doubt. The alumni university may not have taught Latin.

Koufos and Humphries are good examples of guys who should've stayed all four years in college -- they only were draftable because of their size and not their talent. It goes to show that big guys need more time in college -- like Oden, for example. Would he have had the injuries in college? Maybe he needed more time to develop his body for the rigors of the NBA ???

Usually these stickers are meant to imply one is a member of the alumni, so listing it plural feels like you belong. Also often you get one by contributing to the alumni fund or otherwise participating in alumni activities.

And I always like Koufos and hoped he would do well. I would be happy for him if he put together a decent career.

One of the things I liked most about KK was how easily his name could be mispronounced as Costly Doofus. Damn, I wish he could have stayed around long enough for us to overpay him because a joke of that quality could never get old.

Oh relax! I'm kidding.
