I know his name gets thrown around a lot but the rumor is he is on the trading block again. I have always been a fan and have felt that he would be a great addition to our roster.

My first question would be what do we have that Philly would want. They have a good pg. a great 6th man in Williams that can play the 1 or 2 (they need to re-sign him) they have a good 3 pt shooter in Meeks. They have another iguadala clone in turner. They have brand who is playing solid at the pf. Thad young is another great 3/4 off the bench who needs playing time ( they need to re-sign him also). Vujacic is a decent big. Hawes is a free agent. So their biggest need is center. Just what we have to many off.

Not saying Philly would do this but Jefferson for iggy would help Philly financially and give them a nice scoring punch inside. Brands solid d will help Jefferson. They will have more flexibility to re-sign their 2 players. Jazz might have to add a second or 2 but it is a good trade.

Jazz get a sf that can pass and score that is one of the best defenders in the league. Granted he can't shoot 3s very well so that would still need to be addressed. But the problem at the 3 is solved and now kanter will get more playing time.

Just a thought I had today.

I've been reading some Lakers forums lately, and they are way interested in Iggy as well. They're obviously not management, but Gasol for Iggy is probably an option, so we could have that to contend against. Also, I'm wondering about our bigs. Who do we want to start? Do we want a Favors/Millsap front-court? If that is the case, do we want Iggy at $15 & 16 mil.? I'm sure it's an option for sure though.

Jeffry for Iggy is all I would offer. If we could get something better, I wouldn't do it. The though of Iggy doesn't greatly interest me, but he is a great defender and a decent 3pt shooter.

Like the player + hate the contract = no.

I could stomach his $14.7 million salary for 12-13 because he would definitley help this team at SF, but his $15.9 player-option for 2013-14 is the dealbreaker imo. Utah could potentially have a boatload of cap room in 2013 - and even if you don't use it to sign a max-player, we've seen with our own franchise (2003-04) and with others (Sea/OKC) how many assets you can acquire simply by having a ton of cap space. As versatile as Iggy is - I don't think he's worth compromising our flexibility in 2013.

True about gasol but they want to trade iggy to save money and gasol costs more. We have the advantage.

Hmmm .. I see your disinterest. Defender=no need. 3pt shooting=no need.

Iggy would've been perfect for the 2008 Utah Jazz team. ****ing AK...

Reminds me of my progression from dating to marriage.

What? You used to have a chronic difficulty to rise up during tense situations??

I'm sure things like this must've helped, G-Pa

I used to look at him as a choker up until this year. He looked like he progressed some in that area.

Yeah..... and funny how I was shouting from the rooftops for Big Al to be traded for Iggy last off season.
When every one else was bitching that his contract was to long and expensive.
