Just another republican politician praising hitler.

I was thinking the other day about — somebody had mentioned on the radio Adolf Hitler and how he aroused the crowds,” Paladino responded, chuckling a little bit as he said the Nazi dictator’s name. “And he would get up there screaming these epithets and these people were just — they were hypnotized by him. That’s, I guess, I guess that’s the kind of leader we need today. We need somebody inspirational.”

I myself have never thought “we need more politicians screaming epithets and hypnotizing our citizens. Someone like hitler.”
Couldnt this fool come up with another name that made inspirational speeches besides hitler?

Wonder if the idiot knows that besides inspiring crowds hitler also murdered 6 million jews and cause a war that got another 70 million or so people killed. Ya we need someone like HITLER in our american politics. Dumbass.

I think the order of cases they try to have overturned now is:
Obergefell v Hodges (just red meat for their base)
Lawrence v Texas
Loving v Virginia (This one might be difficult for Thomas to rule against... but he'll do it)
Brown v Board of Education (the holy grail)

Gaslit. The Holy Grail? I'm not republican, but leaning that way lately. This type of rhetoric is the same as when the republicans say that democrats will go after church's taxes, they want pedophilia in schools, democrats hate America. Democrats are going to take every gun. Gay Marriage will lead to people marrying trees and animals etc....this rhetoric does nothing but show that you are as far left as you can possibly be and this is why I can no longer take you seriously. The far Right and Far left are so far apart that the ideologies and hate they both spew is why I vote for the person, not the party. The two party system is going to kill this country. It already is. We are so tribal now days with our hate for the "other side" .

Again, I get that slightly expensive gas is like super annoying. But our democracy is at stake. Vote for republicans means killing off our democracy and killing off Ukrainian aid and empowering Putin. That’s worse than temporary higher gas prices that’ll work out via market forces in the next year or two (as they always do).

Gas is not slightly expensive. It's over 7 dollars a gallon by my house. It has an effect on everything we do and buy. My families lifestyle has changed dramatically with inflation. My wife is a nurse and obviously has to go in to do her work. the drive in is only 15 min and the cost of gas for a month is now 350.00 more than this time last year. That's just her car, not mine or my children. Groceries for my family of 4 has gone up several hundred dollars a month. Anything we have been putting in savings is no longer going there. I don't know how people making less money than me make it at all. Gas is not slightly expensive, it's not just the gas that is affected. We are losing the middle class quickly. My son's car broke down. He needs it to work. We can't afford to fix it now. So he is trying to find a new job that he can telework full time. As a 16 year old that isn't really happening. I have taken my kids out of all "activities" (sports, dance, cheer etc...) I know... Wo is me. I had to change some things.... The American dream is dying quickly around here. Oregon is becoming a craphole. More homeless everyday. Homeless camps everywhere and I can see why. People can't afford to live. Crime is going through the roof as people are turning to theft as a way to live... But gas is a little expensive.

Kinda vague response. I would prefer specifics.

Both of them wanted to employ the nuclear option to reduce opposition in the Senate to pass what they wanted to pass. The Democrats actually did it. Then when both brought it up as a threat the other side railed against it. That's been an ongoing battle over the years.

Biden should push the “make everything cheaper and get all the homeless people homes button”. I dont understand why he doesnt use that button. A republican president definitely would.
Trump would never had approved of any stimulus packages that si gle handedly vaused these issue. (Except trump, a republican, wanted more and bigger stimulus packages for is than the ones he got us and inflation wasnt solely caused by stimulus packages.)

Inflation isn't a republican or democrat thing...it's a spending thing that started with Trump. Come on Fish... Your better than that. Come to Oregon and see what it's like. The homeless problem is unreal. He could open the spigot for gasoline in this country. I understand his approach... .Rip the Band-Aid and get us to alternative energy, but over the next few years we will suffer greatly while we "normalize" under new alternatives. The mental health issues that will arise from this change will be felt for many years to come. I'm more worried about the crime rate and what inflation will do there than more than anything.

Do we know what the alternative would have been if we didnt spend? Might be even worse. And its not just a spending thing. Its a supply and demand thing. Its a war in ukraine thing. Its a shutdowns all over the world thing. Its a people getting sick and calling off work shutting down production thing. Its a millions dead thing. Its a supply chain thing. All those things still happen without any stimulus packages.

I remember seeing posts about this administration granting the ability for companies to produce gas here. Granting hella land leases. This administration trying to open the spigot for gasoline in this country but there werent any/enough takers.
Maybe the government should just produce the gasoline themsleves rather than private business but then they would get called socialists or communists for helping with the issue.

I believe the war in Ukraine plays a pivital role in this, but when we print money it adds to inflation. I don't think we needed to have stimulus packages to everyone and their dog during the pandemic. My opinion is that our "leadership" in this country contributed to inflation more so than any war in Ukraine. The pandemic had a global effect, but our leaders made it worse.

I don't work with the oil industry directly, but have family that does. I'm not a fan of the industry, but I'll tell you that if you research you will find that the leases aren't being used because of the secondary and third leases that are not being given out. It's not as simple as everyone is making it out to be. Also shutting down pipelines and potential pipelines has a huge affect. We haven't built new refineries in this country since the 1970s. We are dependent on other countries for oil. We as a country need to transition from oil, but the band aide approach is killing us. We don't have the infrastructure in place to do this right now. I'm pissed at the republicans for not getting an infrastructure bill with the democrats passed. However, there was very little infrastructure in the bill. There are a lot of problems, but the two party system doesn't allow us to actually fix anything because everyone has to be aligned with their party or be sacrifices at the party alter.

To be clear, I don't think the Republicans are in any way interested in overturning Loving vs. Virgina, but the rest of that list is pretty spot-on. Brown vs. Board of Education was one of the primary drivers of white flight in this country. If overturned, you would see many southern cities that have even more segregated schools than we have today.

At $7 a gallon, it would take five complete fill-ups of my car to get over $300, and I can drive well over six hours on a tank. IF you are seeing this type of monthly cost, I can only imagine what sort of behemoth your wife is driving every day. You bet on gas prices staying low when buying that thing, I bet on gas prices going up when I got a manual Spark. Trade-in prices on used cars are through the roof. You could probably trade a high-quality used behemoth for a new sub-compact and pocket money in the difference.

Come to the Midwest. Homes are cheap, gas is cheap, and people are friendly.

And just for perspective: I worked in Brazil for a week about 15 years ago. Gas prices were 8 dollars USD per gallon over there way back then. Meanwhile a person doing the same job as me over there was making about $1500 USD less per month than me. Almost everyone over there drove a compact car (geo metro types) or a motorcycle or scooter. Almost no trucks or SUV's or vans etc.
So I mean 7 dollars per gallon sucks but isn't the end of the world. Just gotta budget better and be smarter.

I dont even make close to 100,000 per year. My wife doesn't work. I have a mortgage and support a small family. I just went on a cruise a month ago and am currently trying to buy a new car (2022 hybrid accord or camry most likely). Life is good. Im doing just fine even during this inflation period (just bought a nice electric bike a little over a month ago that I love and ride to work almost every day.). I make less money that most people im pretty sure yet im still doing fine. I think society has gotten to a point where we love to complain and literally look for things to be upset about. We crave being triggered.
