What's new

Anyone know when Alec Burks is returning to the line up?

Burks would add a ton... anyone who says otherwise is dumb. Ingles has been awful. I love CJ when he makes one of those critical hustle plays but he's a big liability on offense.

I need Burks back now.... NOOOWWWWWW!
Yep.
Burks is instantly our best bench player when healthy. That counts for something me thinks

I am a season ticket holder and have been for many years. However, I have a hard time handing over the cash when the Jazz organization doesn't seem willing to spend the cash to get a team worth watching. I get it, we have our core players we have to pay in the future... but at this point has the CORE shown you anything that makes you think any of them are not expendable? Just venting, but I already gave away most of the tickets for the remainder of the season. The Brooklyn game broke this Camels back.

I think basically CJ and Booker are the same type of players, both hustle players but liability on offense, the should not be on the court a the same time.

Ingles is useless if he does not nail threes.

And saving money to keep their main core. It's a long grueling process.

I told all of u in the off season to slow your rolls and expectations. Building a championship team isn't done in two or three years. It's a long arduous process that can take 5-10 years of patience and careful planning.

Let's also not forget that while you think they haven't spent money, they actually have in some of the best young players at their positions, and the Favors dean may be the best team friendly deal in all of the NBA.

I remember when jazzfanz was filled with knowledgable fans, now seems to be filled with nothing but immature impatient thumb suckers that wants everything now on a silver platter almost as if they think money and wealth grow on trees.

First of all, stop bringing up the Knicks. That's one of the poorest run franchises in the NBA and has been for decades. If you do that, why not bring up the 76'ers as an example of what building via the draft brings?

To say we should expect 5-10 years of building is just ridiculous. If a team does that, EVERY one of those core players will be off their rookie contacts and the team won't be able to keep them. Yes, by all means, let's see what happens in '18/'19 when the Jazz have to try to fit Hayward, Favors, Hood, Exum and Gobert plus 8 additional players under the tax threshold, Hint: the team is going to be every bit as weak as they are now UNLESS there is good young talent to replace some of the bloated contracts. That process has to begin now, with the shedding of players who won't bring enough bang for the buck (target directly pointed at Hayward and maybe Gobert). Favors' "great" contract has no bearing. He'll be getting a big raise - or will decide to move on - before the Jazz contend.

DL has not brought in ONE significant free agent. Yep, I'll concede he's done better than the likes of the Knicks, Kings, 76er's, etc. but even KOC did a better job than DL has done. After losing Hornacek, Stockton and Malone, Jazz were back in the WC Finals in 4 years, with only ONE losing season in the interim. Just like now, Utah had some good young talent, but KOC went out and took chances with some significant free agent signings.

The difference, IMO, is Utah still had someone who actually cared about basketball (Larry H.). Once he died, the Jazz simply became a cash cow for the Miller children, They don't give a damn about winning. And that's even more evident by now having a board to oversee the team. A board's first priority is to maximize profits. And they've done that by giving us fans the 3rd cheapest roster in the league. Only in Utah, with the WORST media in the league, can that NEVER be mentioned. The Jazz OWN the media. Locke is such a spineless patsy. And the rest aren't much different, But they can't be or they'd lose their jobs,

You need to take a break from jazzfanz and jazz in general for a while. Come back next year when the jazz are contending for the 4 seed.

I wish Utah would spend more because I believe that would make us a better team. But this cash cow bull crap is dumb. The Miller's would love to see Utah get a title. No question.

The jazz don't make much money for the Millers. It's like you said, they would love to see the team get a title. If they are only interested in making money, they would sell the team now that it's worth so much.

The goodwill and name recognition from owning the Jazz are huge, though. Don't know how exactly you'd put a price on it, but I think it's got to be in the tens of millions of dollars per year, at least.

Tony Jones tweeted said Alec Burks could be back next week. Will be on minutes restriction.
