He does that and costs teh game and this place goes insane. Rooks ans sophs came back from how much again? Give teh coach a ****ing break.
Are you serious?Calm down drama queen.
Burks played well Wednesday night against Denver - you really think the 18 minutes of Bell doing almost nothing were that precious that he couldn't at least have given the kid the chance to hear a loud ovation when they announce his name during the game so he could feel he was part of the home opener?

No he should not care about the kids feelings in this. He needs to be ready to play to get minutes. They don't feel he is.
While Bell is getting far more minutes than he should. Your reason for giving Burks minutes is laughable. Burks should get minutes because he earns them and takes them from Bell. This is kind of the wrong year to be a young mid round pick. He did not have much time in camp and pre-season to show he deserves those minutes. His feeling should have nothing to do with his playing time.
Exactly. And that's why a full DNP is so unhelpful; it is a missed opportunity to establish a baseline of performance for both the player and the coach's perspective on the player. It's a missed opportunity for valuable experience (and diversity of experience), even if it's for a few minutes at a time.Would have like to see if burks could have slowed down holiday or Williams.
1. I know you probably had shut the game off by then (if you watched it at all); but Burks scored 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 2 steals in 10 minutes against Denver Wednesday night. 2. He also played 6 minutes in The Laker game as well.
That is THE reason he should have at least had gotten a shot to play. The fact that it was his first ever home opener is an ancillary reason; but it is a reason nonetheless. If you have a basic understanding about managing people; you would realize these things.
Corbin obviously feels Burks can't contribute right away. I'm sure Ty's first priority is to figure out the line ups and put together groups that play well together. Having a young Burks, who looks lost unless he's dominating the ball (so far), in there mucking things up will only slow the teams gelling process.
Baby steps. Burks will get some burn once the teams doesn't look and feel like a category 4 **** storm.
Because Raja's 11 points in 62 total minutes is obviously more effective than Burks 15 points in 15 minutes so far this year.

The best time to groom an ultra-young player; missed oppty by Corbin.candrew said:1. I know you probably had shut the game off by then (if you watched it at all); but Burks scored 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 2 steals in 10 minutes against Denver Wednesday night.

1. In garbage time
Yeah, except for those 2 steals on defense and 6 for 9 on offense--on a very low sample size of a total of 15 minutes, btw. Or, if you were referring to the Laker game alone, 6 minutes is not enough time to really write a player off.2. He did terrible on both sides of the court.
But when it's garbage time, there's no downside, "being ready" is irrelevant, because there's nothing to "be ready" for, and there is no better way to refine skills (and identify weaknesses) than being on center court. Practice, game film, individual workouts with assistant coaches, and college/NBDL/overseas can only do so much.I was watching. It was nice. But it was also in a game that was already over. In fact all of his stats have come in games that were over at the time.
His feeling should have less than no impact to his playing time right now. It's not an ancillary reason. It's no reason at all. I own a successful company and manage people (both employees and customers) every day. You do not give resposibility to sombody you don't feel is ready for it. It creates more problems than it is worth. The coaches obviously don't feel he is ready.
Excellent--a glint of wisdom. As to whether he has earned the time or not, that is a different argument. One I would be inclined to agree with you on. I feel he should be playing over Bell. But his feelings have nothing to do with it. But that Bell is terrible and Burks can't be much worse.

Because he's a ball hog. Jimmer and CJ look like Mark Eaton next to him.
Jordan wishes he saw as many "good shots" as he sees.
