Anyone want to go fish Lake Powell with me tomorrow?

I was fibbing. I had to chose between Moab and Ticaboo, and took Moab. You wouldn't want to make that drive anyway -- 6 hrs from the Geezy.

If my boss ever sends me jackbooting down to STG again then I'd love a tour of Quail. My last trip there was a pregnancy nightmare event to forget, but damn how good does swimming in warm water in April after cold SLC winters feel. Beautiful lake ... too bad that other one gives you jock crabies.

I would like to check out quail as well..... never stopped there, just drove by like a million times

I have no officially fished it three times, and I have yet to see nary a sign of a fish in that lake. I know that they are in there, because I've heard people talk about it, but you would think that in three full trips you'd see at least one fish jump. Or maybe some fry. Or maybe a dead one somewhere. But no, not me. I hate that lake.

If you're not one of these typical backwoods, Utah slimer purists then you'd have a blast. It's one of the few Utah waters with half decent (i.e. midget sized but not dinkers) LMB. If you are a slimer purist then they got plenty of those for you as well.


There's also some pretty good cliff jumping spots, and the clear water makes kayaking on dead water as fun as is possible. It's a beautiful lake that I'd visit for a week every spring if it wasn't for our non-European vacation hours thingy.

When the weather gets good I'm takin my dog, wife, and trailer on down there for 4 days or so

Bass are hard to fish. You'd better stick to the trout dums.
