Are there any past Jazz player's number would the organization retire?

I'm serious about Ron Boone #24. He was a really good basketball player for both the Utah Jazz and the Utah Stars. He got Utah their first championship in 1971 playing for the Stars, and is the second all time scorer in ABA history.

I'm an AK47 homer, but imho I think he doesn't deserve a jersey retirement. On another team he could have been a multi-year all-star, but I'll stand by this:

Jerry Sloan was a good playmaking coach but a TERRIBLE coach when it came to teaching and adjusting

Statistically they both surpassed Jeff Hornacek with the Jazz and his number is hanging. Other than personal bias against them there’s not much of an argument against retiring their numbers. PR wise, which is part of retiring numbers, both would be a good move. Think of the headlines of the Jazz and Williams publically burying the hatchet. It’s a no brainer.

Williams can bury any hatchet he want's, we're talking about what maybe THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL SCENARIO BETWEEN STAR PLAYER AND LONG TIME/FRANCHISE COACH IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS!! Most of us don't have to be reminded about the Williams/Paul comparison. That's not whats at question. AK is something I'm not even touching on because you got me messed up with D-Will. Adrian Dantley situation is about a 1,000 times different and in the opposite direction as Deron Williams situation. He made a Legend Coach of the Jazz and of NBA history resign after a regulation game!!! I don't care if D-Will was Wilt Chamberlain, we're talking, he forced Coach Sloan and Phil Johnson to resign on the same night!!! Bury the hatchet?? There is no Hatchet to bury if it's a murder weapon.

TERRIBLE coach when it came to teaching and adjusting!!!???? LMFAO!!!!!!! Coach Sloan was the definition of teaching and adjusting. He taught a game that was so precise other coaches tried to duplicate it and failed. The Jazz went to the playoffs 14 straight years and 18 out of 21 years of coaching at the time the NBA was at it's best. You don't think he was a good teacher and couldn't adjust!!!???? Let me guess, your opinion that he couldn't adjust was because he didn't prefer his team shooting a 3? How did I know?? Because you go off of what you hear instead of researching it for yourself. Your a fool to think this about Sloan. Popovich even said that he got his style from Sloan. Sloan is the 4th in the NBA for the most wins, are you serious!!!??

Are you even aware of the role that Hornacek played in getting the Jazz through the Playoffs? I'm not going to dive in too deep, but in Game 2 against the Lakers, 1st round playoffs 97, he scored 21 points and got 7 assists hitting big shots.
Game 3 he scored 26 and was the Jazz leading scorer in a losing effort. We went on to win the series because of his contributions on offense and defense.

He was one of the most consistent Jazz men we had for years. What are you even talking right now.

AK, had a decent series against the 8th seed team. He still wasn't as important to winning as boozer in that one and any others. I think you're over rating his defense and impact. But he's your favorite player so I get it.

AK MVP is right in that AK could affect games and series in a serious way and he didn't have to bring big scoring to do so. When he did this he was awesome to watch. The problem for me was that he disappeared too much to be retired for me. If he had consistency and if he didn't check out so soon after getting the big contract I'd get a petition signed to get his jersey retired. But... unfortunately, he was just a body running up and down the court towards the end as much as he was a difference maker. If only, if only.

But he didn't check out right after contract.... Year after that contract he still was leading league in shot blocks and was still the best player on the Jazz. We started season 5-0 and were in serious playoff talk when Ginobili crashed into AK's knee and caused him to miss 20+ games with MCL sprain - neither Boozer nor Memo were able to keep Jazz afloat and Jazz record during that span was pathetic and we never recovered. Then at the end of the season Kwame Brown undercut him and he had scary crash landing braking his one wrist and badly spraining the other. I would think those injuries and him being quite fragile and possible more scared of getting injured again had more to do with his declined hustle and living in the paint than checking out because he was paid.
