What parts of Maryland? I lived in Harford County for a few years.
Rockville (Montgomery County) followed by Fort Washington (PG County, south of DC).

I disagree with this. The whole discussion about parking being a nightmare there is on point, but I find drivers are far more courteous than in Utah. If I signal a lane change, 99% of the time I have no problem doing it, even trying to go west over the Bay Bridge on a Saturday. It has been well documented in this thread how Utah drivers feel about letting anyone in front of them, space allowing or not.
I lived in Waldorf.
Days when some one won't let me merge are the days I miss my Jeep. It was lifted and I would just continue to merge over due to my car being bigger than theirs.
Small world! That's just a hop, step, and jump from where I used to live in Fort Washington. Same stake, even. I was in the Capitol Ward, which met in the Suitland stake center building. (I'm pretty sure you are LDS, apologies if not.)
The Bay Area is pretty bad. There's a reason there's a stereotype about Asians being bad drivers. You also have to deal with guys driving Miatas.
