Yes our starting 4 won't be really good.
Give me a list of teams with 5 top end talent players starting. There aren't many, if any at all. It's ok to have a Jeff green starting if the other 4 guys are all star or near all star level players. There is only one ball after all.

I don't think anyone is asking for all-stars at every position. But right now we are looking at borderline 2nd and 3rd string players in the starting role whereas the majority of contenders at least field 5 legit starters. We need that 5th starting caliber player to really threaten a deep playoff run. The flip side of this coin is to ask people to point out the last championship team that handled a major position by committee, especially if that team did not have one of the best players that ever played game (like a LeBron or Curry). That 4 spot is our Achilles heel for sure.

Our best hope is for Mudiay AND Exum to be healthy and develop to help make Dante more expendable and an intriguing asset in a trade.
 
I voted PG because I really did not want Donovan or Joe running the point and I'll only believe in a healthy Exum when I see it.

Not sure about mudiay as I have not seen a single game of his yet.

The second option would be PF but I do believe we'll run it fine by comittee, but wouldn't mind someone else there just in case

Basically bojan makes our best better than two of the guys you mention.
But two of the guys you mentioned makes our floor higher (our worst case scenario is better with 2 other guys instead of bojan)

We want to win a ****ing championship this year. You want more top end players for that. So bojan is better than two ok players for that goal

Oh, so really the difference is y'all are all in on Bojan. Fair enough. I don't think he's near the player everyone here seems to think he is.
 
It's not like we don't have enough bodies to throw at the PF position:

Green, Bogdanovic, O'Neale, Niang, with perhaps Ingles, Davis, and Brantley all being options in a pinch. But as many people have implied, it's that none of these combine perfect PF fit with upper-level-starter quality (Green and Bogie being the closest).

At this point, I think it's an insoluble problem. So while I'm fine if we somehow add a JaMychal or a Jabari (though I think the reason they're not signed at this point is likely because they're either making a money play or that other teams think their incumbent teams will simply beat whatever minimal offers come their way), neither of those additions really fully solves the problem. They increase depth, but they're not giving us a better starter than Jeff Green or Bogie.

But if we're just looking for depth, I'm just as concerned about the wing. We have four good players for two positions (though Donovan might only work for one position) but there's not enough depth behind them. In a pinch, Exum, Green, or Oni might work, I suppose, but I could see the Jazz hoping to find a true SG/SF combo with a little shooting ability (I have no idea who, however.)
