Atlanta fan here. Not interested. Remove Okongwu and we have a deal. Otherwise, that's an awful deal for us and far too rich for Utah
I can see the value of JC, two 1sts, and while I don't believe JJ has much value. Money wise, this doesn't work. I would gladly do a Kevin and JC deal without any picks.
Okongwu is a non starter for us. Any deal with him is an instant no unless we are trading for a legit gamechanger superstar with a reasonable contract. Neither of which is Rudy. Okongwu, Hunter, and Trae are simply off the table. We need them too much for the rest of the east. Otherwise, we can't do a deal.
Maybe another team can give you a better offer. Try Charlotte. They have two 1sts.
I think this is where the conversation would land. I understand why ATL would be hesitant to trade Okongwu. But the rest of the trade does make sense from a negotiation standpoint if you swap in Capela for Okungwu.
The base is Capela+Collins for Gobert. Then ATL would have to sprinkle in some future assets. JJ and two firsts....I could see there being hard negotiations from both sides at the point. But we're in the ballpark of what would be realistic IMO. There would need to be some salary matching and maybe some moving parts with JC, Huerter, Bojan, Bogdan etc.
FWIW, Hollinger had this trade pegged at Capela+Collins+JJ+#16 for Gobert+Gay with a possible additional swap of Bogdanovic for Bogdanovic.
